I love this city with all my heart. I went there for the first time on a school trip and there were a lot of things to do. I visited it again in February, because a friend of mine is studying there. I loved it even more , the food was amazing, it has plenty of pretty coffee shops were you can chat and spend quality time with your friends, and you can find several activities to do. My favourite was a horror escape room we visited, I thought it was an amazing and funny experience. But my...

I love my trips to Thessaloniki, with my friend group there we go to bars and on hikes. I've been seeing them every summer and will always recommend and prefer this city over any touristic island in Greece

I felt safe, I spent under 25 euros a day. Food was amazing. I went with tour so my experience was limited yet I highly recommend. Every person I've encountered seems to understand english. It is refreshing walking in the Aristoteles square and trying greek pastries thereby.

Thessaloniki is such a beautiful city. The people are so nice and helpful, very social compared to where I come from. There is a lot of catcalling unfortunately, men of all age shouting and whistling, we were approached a few times too but it was handled with a simple story of telling that we're traveling with a man:’) I definitely recommend visiting Halkidiki; rent a car or take the bus! Also Ano Poli is worth it, the cafes and general vibe there made me want to stay there forever. There are...

It is a really beautiful city which many different places. I had a really nice time and you get used to the city very fast. However after a few days it can get a little boring, since the city is not too big.

Thessaloniki is the biggest cultural city of northern Greece and here is what I did and how I felt there during my 3 nights stay: ▪︎ It was overall safe, but being pretty crowded during that period I felt like I have to be more alert. There are also a couple neighbourhoods that you would want to avoid as a solo traveler, but again, I didn't have any bad experience whatsoever. ▪︎ I did some self exploring during the first day, just wondering around the streets and parks, which felt quite idyllic...

My friend and I stayed for two days in Thessaloniki. The food was quite tasty and affordable. People were not rude and it was a city where we felt safe. We visited the historical buildings and the castle of the city with our friends who guided and hosted us. We watched the city from the top and I recommend that you definitely watch the sunset here. ☀️☀️

Since I went to Thessaloniki with a tour, the hotel I stayed in was 40 minutes away from the city center, so I don't recommend staying far from the center. Our guide told us that if we wanted to use a taxi, it would cost 45 Euros from the city center to the hotel. It is a city with a young population and nightlife in summer. The promenade and Aristoteles square were incredible! There is a wide variety of bars and if you want to eat there are many tavernas. There is also musical entertainment in...

was a fun city and unsuspectingly fun, close to beautiful beaches. some harassment but everyone was friendly and the food was amazing and within a very easy budget. Very walkable and beautiful views of the ocean, accommodation was easy as well. A lot of cats and cool ruins but overall it is a port city not very beachy itself. In terms of harassment some men selling bracelets were very forward with their tactics sometimes with physical contact, but besides that there is not a lot of negative...

Thessaloniki generally is considered to be a safe place in its wholesome. You should always need to be careful with your belongings because of pick pocketing. The greater attention should be paid to dedicated areas that you shouldn't visit even during day

Thessaloniki is very safe . In my opinion it has a very safe city centre . However be careful when you visit Aristotle’s square. If you are a solo female traveler you will feel immediately relaxed because it’s an easy city to walk around .

In general safe, police is very often strolling around especially in city center, very lively city you can find stores open in city center 24/7. Female travellers should be extra careful around train and bus stations

If u don’t know some locals at least be with friends. At night, the center it’s kinda okay.. but if u go like 1-2 klm away form it , not recommended to be alone . And don’t try at 3 in the morning to walk back to your place alone if it’s not 10min walk (max). Just be with a friend:3

Thessaloniki is a generally safe city I would say. The area close to the train station is very unsafe especially for women tho. A lot of thieves, drug users etc live there, so I would definitely recommend to check on your surroundings and NEVER go in this area alone or with headphones on.

As I live here as a uni student I never felt unsafe and I’m very glad about that. All people are generous and helpful. As a big city Thessaloniki continuously is full of people whenever and that’s something very important

About me

CURRENTLY OUT OF THESSALONIKI Hello girls! I am Greek and of course it's cheaper to travel abroad rather than Greece! I am 20 yrs and I am Chemical Engineer student in Thesssaloniki. I love cycling and I want to explore the world by bikepacking. I know it's hard but it calls me. I want to connect and meet inspiring women and people in general. I am an artistic person even though I study engineering. Life is strange.
