How safe is Crete Island for solo female travelers?

I would highly suggest Crete if you are going to Greece. It’s not usually on the “must-do” list but it should be. It has beautiful coastal cities with blue harbours and white sandy beaches. As the two towns Chania and Heraklion are much smaller, they have somewhat of a smaller town vibe and I felt very safe. If you are able I would suggest renting a scooter like I did and exploring inland where you’ll find cute little villages tucked away and some amazing views, and of course- more beaches.

Group travel
Lovely island with loads of things to do. We visited elafonisi beach, beautiful but can be overcrowded, I would recommend going in the morning as around lunch time it got really busy. Rethymno is a lovely historic town. Beautiful.
