I loved Santorini - I hiked from Fira to Oia and took a boat trip to the volcano, hot springs, and then watched the sunset. I felt very safe.
Posted: May 22, 2023Santorini is very safe and the locals are really nice. I spent most of my time in Thira and a few nights in Oia. I loved staying in Thira, things were cheaper and it was very easy to get to Oia for sunset and to the red beach on the other side of the island. I rented an ATV and felt like I had a lot of freedom. I rented it through my hotel. I quickly got used to the island and felt very safe.
Posted: April 11, 2023Santorini is very safe, but a bit too expensive compared to other islands. I didn't like living in Perissa, but it was okay. I did a hiking trail from Fira to Oia and one from Perissa to Ancient Thera. I would recommend both. Oia at sunset is chaos. I preferred the town of Fira.
Posted: April 11, 2023Santorini was one of my favorite places! The views, the food, the people, and the beaches. We spent most of our time in Santorini and one full day in Athens. My daughter and I felt very safe.

Crowds (I visited off-season, so it's scary to think about how it is during the peak season), the food is much worse than on other Greek islands, prices are also much higher, not many places to explore, and the beaches are quite average. I have visited several different places in Greece, and I regret those few days in Santorini.
Posted: February 11, 2024In my opinion, a postcard from Greece takes your breath away with its atmospheric white towns. The island, in my opinion, is more for sightseeing and walking than for beach activities. The beaches here are not particularly impressive; there are not many places with turquoise waters. And, in my opinion, it is the least Greek of all the islands.
