Went for two nights/three days, and I wouldn’t bother going again. It’s fat too small, there’s nothing to do, and it gets so overfull with tourists that it’s just hell trying to get anywhere in the towns.

Amazing and beautiful place a bit expensive but a lot of tourist but it’s the season.we was there for my girlfriend birthday! We visited red beach fira monolithos and oia. We really love this island. See you santorin
Posted: July 8, 2023Experienced: June, 2023Santorini is very touristy and overcrowded. Very overwhelming. When those cruise ships arrive, it literally feels like everyone is packed in like sardines. It was very pretty though and very expensive, especially accommodation and food. I spent double the amount in the 2 days in Santorini compared to my 5 days in Athens.
Posted: June 11, 2023I loved Santorini - did the hike from Fira to Oia and a boat trip to the volcano, hot springs, and then sunset. Felt very safe.
Posted: May 22, 2023Santorini is so beautiful but so crowded. However, I did the hike from Fira to Oía (about 5-6 hours) and I loved it. Could barely see people on the trails and the views were breathtaking.
Posted: April 30, 2023Santorini was a disappointment as it felt like there was little authenticity and too crowded with cruise ships but it was very very beautiful. I recommend getting up early to see Oia and avoid Fira/Oia during the day.
Posted: April 23, 2023Santorini is super safe and the locals are really kind. I stayed in Thira most of the time and in Oia for a few nights. I loved staying in Thira, things were cheaper and it was super easy to get around to Oia for the sunset and the red sand beach on the other side of the island. I rented an ATV and felt like I had so much freedom. I rented it through my hotel. I got comfortable with the island quickly and felt very safe.
Posted: April 11, 2023Santorini is very safe but a little overpriced compared to other islands. I didn't like staying in Perissa but it was ok. I did the hike from Fira to Oia and one from Perissa to Ancient Thera. I would recommend both. Oia at sunset is chaos. I preferred the town of Fira.
Posted: April 11, 2023We spent 3 days in Santorini, and I wish we would have spent less time there. Too many people for me and quite expensive. I didn’t feel like I was getting the real essence of Greece. In front of our place overlooking the caldera there were people getting their photo taken 24/7.
Posted: December 10, 2022For Santorini, I enjoyed visiting the ancient Thera site - not much to see by way of ruins but fantastic views. Personally I found sunset in Oia to be overhyped - I’d recommend watching the sunset from Imerovigli or Pyrgos as other options. Akrotiri lighthouse also provides another interesting view. Also loved Megalochori - beautiful little town and also has a view of the caldera. The rock formations in Vlichada Beach are spectacular too. I did the walk from Oia to Fira and it was great. Same a cruise around Santorini, had a lot of fun. So nice seeing the caldera and island from the water.
