Last summer, I travelled among the Greek islands - my advice would be to choose Paros over Santorini and Mykonos, if you intend to visit just one island. Paros offers everything at the same level/quality as the two I mentioned (it's beautiful), but it's much calmer (the others were unpleasantly crowded), less pretentious and much more affordable, simply because it's not as popular. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy my stays on the other two islands, I did, but I definitely won't come back there when the other islands are much nicer.
Posted: July 13, 2023Paros is really a cool place! Stay at the Paros Backpackers hostel (near the port), it's a super sociable place with a roof where everyone meets and spends time! Definitely worth taking a day trip to Antiparos and also to Naousa (a really nice part of the island, but it costs more to stay there). Buses are very easy to understand and it's really a cheap way to get around all the islands.

Hi I’m Kerry. I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout my life. I’ve lived in Costa Rica in the 90’s and know a good deal about Central America. I’ve also been traveling a lot on Western Europe. My favorite places are Spain and the Mediterranean. While traveling alone, I’d love to meet up with like minded women travelers to share dinner or an excursion while I’m out an about. Current bucket list- Greece, Sardinia, outer Hebrides in Scotland, Mexico City, Bolivia. Happy Travels! Hope to meet you on the road 😁
