I was staying in Souroti (near Thessaloniki) for about 3 weeks as a volunteer in a dog shelter. The experience was amazing, the town was extremely small but you could feel the greek atmosphere everywhere. I’ve felt very safe both in Souroti and Thessaloniki. The food (and all the other necessities) was definitely affordable, prices quite similar to Poland. There are some buses that can take you to bigger cities. I recommend walking around the area to see the beautiful views, but be careful on the busy streets and careless drivers!
Posted: January 16, 2025It’s wasn’t safe at all and it’s not interesting . The sea is really bad and it’s actually stinks . The food was not so bad , but I was for sure tried something better than that . The citizens aren’t that much of friendly and they look at you kind of weird .

I felt safe there, but you need to be careful, lock your car safely. I was with my family. We went to greece with a caravan. So we just slept in the van. Well if you want to park in Athens everywhere you need to pay. And its expensive a little bit. If you go there you need to see the Akropolis. The view is beutiful and the architecture too, you'll see the whole town it's insane. And if you really go there just walk some of the parks it really has a vibe. We were in budget that time so yeah if you with a caravan and you are not want to sleep in the town then you good, it not exactly that much money. Stay safe✌
Posted: January 13, 2025Experienced: December, 2023I felt pretty safe in Athens. The town has a lot to offer. The second hand shops are pricey, but Tattoos are cheap (I recommend Holly Tattoo). When you are from Europa and under 25 you can visit a lot of places for free. I recommend a picnic in the morning on the hill next to the Acropolis.
Posted: January 7, 2025Experienced: November, 2024We went there for my aunties wedding and it was gorgeous!! Quite a touristy place with many back streets and lots of things to do like eating, island hopping, snorkelling etc. I felt very safe walking around at night although there was one incident were some guy touched one of my friends a bit inappropriately. Apart from that it was a lovely experience! It is quite touristy and there is a limited night scene with some clubs. Overall I do recommend it.

Greece got my heart. People are kind, food is great and not too expensive if you find a local places. Sea is beautiful, i felt such at home when i visited this place. For accommodation i spent 100€ for a house, but i was with a group of friends, so it was cheaper (and we had a car).
Posted: December 27, 2024An awesome beach, the culture is also amazing and native people are so nice and welcoming especially because it’s a really popular place among travelers. I’ve been out multiple times during the night and have never felt like I could be in danger. It is a bit overpriced comparing to some other places but it’s still worth it. The beaches are amazing, as well as the food and drinks (I recommend trying their gyros, just amazing) There are a couple of more famous beaches and cities close by, so if you like buying souvenirs I’d recommend going to those other towns, and be sure to take a walk over the bridge and not go by a vehicle, it takes only 30min and the fresh air next to the water is amazing. All in all, a great place for everyone, it’s really easy to meet people there as well and make some new friends. Good luck on your adventures!
Posted: December 25, 2024Felt safe. Two days is more than enough for Athens. Good public transport and welcoming people. Historical destination. Very hot in the summer; I think it’s better to visit during the off-peak season with fewer crowds and less heat.

Greece is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. We did Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Mykonos. Highly recommend the Katikies Garden in Santorini (hotel). Also don’t feel intimidated by the ferry’s lines, they are surprisingly organized!
Posted: December 13, 2024Experienced: June, 2024Felt very safe in Poros. However, there are quite many stray cats and I am unsure of the safety or hygiene concerns related to them. A city where most stay a couple of nights during a sailing or boating trip.

Kanallaki is a really safe place, it is a small place with not many things happening. We have some rare cases of house robberies but only when they are empty, it is not a place where many people get hurt, the only real danger is drunk driving.
Posted: January 20, 2025Thessaloniki is the second biggest city in Greece. It has a lot of students, and people from different backgrounds. Criminally rates are low, but we always have to be aware. I am always worried about sexual harassment, although it is not common in my city. Public transport is cool and it’s a vivid city. You are going to meet people at the street every day and night. Due to its extreme nightlife there is always something around u can call for support. Also Greeks are very helpful.
