I’d say Jena is quite safe! They’re some homeless people in the centre that beg for money that can sometimes be a bit irritating when they try to talk to you but they’re harmless overall. But otherwise Jena is mostly quiet at night except there’s like a party going on haha.

Hey, I'm on an Interrail trip exploring lots of cool places in Europe. I'm studying Physics in small but cute town Jena in Germany. I love visiting new cities but also spending time in nature. I'm totally in love with outdoor activities such as rock climbing and hiking. I'd be so happy to meet people and find locals who can give helpful advice or even a stay for a night.

Jena is really safe. There are some drunken dudes at Wagnergasse at night but there are also a Lot other Person who can (and will) Help you if something happens. Besides this its a lovely town. If you want to eat something nice try Salü its a vegetarian Restaurant with tasty Stuff. Maybe avoid Lobeda or some places of Winzerla at night but mostly because of some drunken idiots. Its not like you should really worry about them. Just If you can avoid it go somewhere else. If not you don't have to be scared. Take the train/ Bus or Bike to get around. Its the best and fastest way to travel. Try Kulturarena at Summer. Its some kind of Open Air Festival. You can sit in Front for free or get some cheep Tickets. Also the Paradies is a wonderful Park at our local River the Saale.
