Vancouver, Solo travel

Vancouver is great for anyone, from casual walks along the beach to live music. I recently went to a concert and had so much fun. The transit is great, and friendly people. Although it’s expensive, I recommend Granville island

Victoria, Couple travel

Highly recommend, but it can be pricey (although worth it). Staying in the downtown area was amazing, although a bit busy. There’s lots of to do and it’s beautiful walking down by the waterfront. I didn’t have any safety concerns

Canada, Solo travel

I've been to Canada for a whole year to work and travel. It was amazing! The people were so nice and helpful all the time and the nature is just amazing! I would recommend to buy a car though, so you can experience the country even better since public transfer is good but limited outside the cities 😬

Lake Louise, Solo travel

I visited Lake Louise in late March and it was absolutely stunning! I was lucky enough to get a sunny day where I could see the mountains, the lake was still frozen so I walked on the surface which was so cool to experience. Definitely worth a visit, just make sure you get a park pass in the information center!

Saint-Damien-Station

St.Dam is incredibly peaceful, the most danger you get is the occasional person with an addiction and maybe some trespassing. (There are a lot of abandoned buildings) I'm very comfortable here, to the point I can go on a night walk alone and feel pretty okay.

Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver is usually very safe and has very limited crime. Any scarier/less safe areas are confined pretty much entirely to East Hastings Street. In daytime it’s not AS bad, but do not ever go there at night.

Kingston

Encampment area, high crime, homeless population and shelters. Visible addictions problems in the city. People are friendly however there is a lot of trash, people in distress and emergency services are always in the area

Montreal

I have been living in Montreal for almost a year now. I never felt unsafe in this city, day or night. I never experienced catcall, street harassment or theft. It is a city where women can walk, bike, drive or take the metro without feeling unsafe.

About me

Heloooo Hi! My name is May, I’m 20 years old and currently studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. I grew up in Toronto but I’ve always been curious about the world and different ways of living, which is why I love traveling. I grew up helping in my family’s restaurant from a young age, which taught me a lot about hospitality, hard work, and connecting with people. Because of that, I’m very comfortable adapting to new environments and meeting people from different backgrounds. I’ve been lucky to travel to a few places already, including Egypt, Ireland, Malaysia, Japan, and China, and I recently spent time studying in Kosovo. Experiences like that made me realize how much I enjoy learning about cultures, food, and everyday life in different countries. I’m someone who is very positive, curious, and open to new experiences. I love animals, nature, good food, and meaningful conversations. I’m also really interested in sustainability, farms, and learning practical skills that connect people more to the land and where their food comes from.
