I went on a trip with my friend and we had fun, I felt pretty safe, we used the metro to get around and we didn't have any inconvenience. We visited the main attraction and explored the city a little, the prices we're a little bit high but it's Vienna so I was expecting that. Overall we had fun and enjoyed the city.
Posted: May 12, 2025I did not feel safe, at all they even chase med when I was at the back of the group. The food was bad I never tasted so pricey and overall everywhere bad even at the hotel I wanted to puke. Even the places not my type at all, but I liked the structures and history and my group
Posted: May 1, 2025I loved Vienna. I felt very safe, almost "at home" like. All encounters with others were nice. I weren't scared to go out alone. It's beautiful there, I recommend it to you so much! There's many cool places to visit.
Posted: April 26, 2025It was really beautiful. It was a bit uncomfortable in the street me and my friend were sleeping in tho. There were rats and many drug addicts that I had to yell at to go away. Really annoying. It is like that on the other side of the train station. It was really weird. But other parts of the city were alright. At night too.
Posted: April 26, 2025Experienced: January, 2025I traveled Vienna with my partner in 2024. We stayed in an Airbnb right in the city centre — of course the location had us feeling a little uncomfortable going out late, just the two of us, but that’s an experience I assume I’d have in any big city at night :) We were very lucky — as <20 year olds, we could visit many museums for free, which made up for our housing and food being quite expensive in comparison to it at home :) All in all, I’d definitely recommend a visit, especially, when you’re, like us, interested in culture & under 20 :)
Posted: April 24, 2025We felt very safe in Vienna, roaming around in the late hours at night. I came with my boyfriend. I really liked the architecture and I felt I was in a movie the whole time, everything was so beautiful, the moment we stepped around the city centre you did not need a map anymore, every 2 minutes you will find another breathtaking building or monument. I don't have food or restaurant recommendations bcz we mainly ate at McDonalds and at home. I spent 100€/day. We stayed in the Waldmullergasse something street, and it was very quiet all the time, we had a Billa supermarket right around the corner. As for the public transportation, we did not use it much, we mainly walked. From our house to the main attractions it was around 30-40 mins of walking.

I felt very safe in the city physically and also mentally, since the locals were quite friendly and helpful. The food didn’t meet my expectations but was still really good! I had a tight budget but still managed to enjoy many interesting activities, including visits to their illusion museum and the popular Das Loft restaurant. I’d suggest visiting the latter during sunset for spectacular views! I walked everywhere and didn’t use any transportation mode since the city is quite compact with an efficient infrastructure. As for the accommodation, I stayed at Hotel Stefanie and it was perfect with a nice room and location.

We did an audiotour "Self-guided Walking Tour of the Vienna City" from Booking.com and used it for the three days we were in Vienna to everyday listen to new information about some attractions and really loved it. It was an easy way to really learn about Viennese history and see the layers of history the city has. We stayed in the Meininger Hotel Downtown Franz, and i would really recommend it. We slept in the dormitory room, and were pleasantly surprised at the privacy each bed offered and overall our experience was really good from the helpful and friendly staff to the nice guest kitchen and overall good vibe and easy stay. It was also on a walking distance from the city centre. Overall a super interesting city with lots of history and perfect for a weekend getaway, but didn't really vibe with the city as i have with some other places. The city itself didnt leave a mark in my heart and i wouldn't visit again although i really enjoyed our trip.
Posted: March 9, 2025Experienced: September, 2024I had a wonderful time in Vienna! I felt completely safe throughout my stay. I highly recommend visiting the main landmarks as well as Prater, which was a fun experience. For two days, I spent around 100 euros in total. We stayed in an Airbnb, which was comfortable and convenient. To get around the city, we primarily used trams, which were efficient and easy to navigate. Vienna is a beautiful city with so much to offer, and I would love to visit again in the future!

I really love Vienna! It’s so beautiful and cosy city. It is also very international. I’ve been there few times and every single time I fall in love with the city over and over again! It’s very historical and green.

Vienna is generally safe and many people agree on fact that it is one of the safest cities in Europe. However, I would advice you to avoid Gumpendorfer Strasse and be very cautious on U6 line and S-bahn
Posted: May 4, 2025vienna is actually very safe, especially compared to other big cities. i’m just a naturally cautious (and easily scared) person, and i live a bit outside the center, so sometimes i feel a bit uneasy at night. but overall, i’ve never had a bad experience here!
