Vienna, Group travel

I did not feel safe, at all they even chase med when I was at the back of the group. The food was bad I never tasted so pricey and overall everywhere bad even at the hotel I wanted to puke. Even the places not my type at all, but I liked the structures and history and my group

Vienna, Group travel

I loved Vienna. I felt very safe, almost "at home" like. All encounters with others were nice. I weren't scared to go out alone. It's beautiful there, I recommend it to you so much! There's many cool places to visit.

Vienna, Group travel

It was really beautiful. It was a bit uncomfortable in the street me and my friend were sleeping in tho. There were rats and many drug addicts that I had to yell at to go away. Really annoying. It is like that on the other side of the train station. It was really weird. But other parts of the city were alright. At night too.

Vienna, Couple travel

I traveled Vienna with my partner in 2024. We stayed in an Airbnb right in the city centre — of course the location had us feeling a little uncomfortable going out late, just the two of us, but that’s an experience I assume I’d have in any big city at night :) We were very lucky — as <20 year olds, we could visit many museums for free, which made up for our housing and food being quite expensive in comparison to it at home :) All in all, I’d definitely recommend a visit, especially, when you’re, like us, interested in culture & under 20 :)

Vienna, Couple travel

We felt very safe in Vienna, roaming around in the late hours at night. I came with my boyfriend. I really liked the architecture and I felt I was in a movie the whole time, everything was so beautiful, the moment we stepped around the city centre you did not need a map anymore, every 2 minutes you will find another breathtaking building or monument. I don't have food or restaurant recommendations bcz we mainly ate at McDonalds and at home. I spent 100€/day. We stayed in the Waldmullergasse something street, and it was very quiet all the time, we had a Billa supermarket right around the corner. As for the public transportation, we did not use it much, we mainly walked. From our house to the main attractions it was around 30-40 mins of walking.

I felt very safe in the city physically and also mentally, since the locals were quite friendly and helpful. The food didn’t meet my expectations but was still really good! I had a tight budget but still managed to enjoy many interesting activities, including visits to their illusion museum and the popular Das Loft restaurant. I’d suggest visiting the latter during sunset for spectacular views! I walked everywhere and didn’t use any transportation mode since the city is quite compact with an efficient infrastructure. As for the accommodation, I stayed at Hotel Stefanie and it was perfect with a nice room and location.

Kiefersfelden, Solo travel

This small town is located in the Alps and a great place to go hiking. The nature is awesome. There are lots of waterfalls and lakes. Bavarian cuisine is delicious. I really recommend this place not only for solo travellers but for families.

Austria, Solo travel

The food is noooot all that great and it's expensive BUT! Innsbruck is where I had the most fun with many people!! I climbed up a mountain with people I had met the same day and it was so easy to meet up people! It was during an interrail in which I had 6 destinations and Innsbruck and Prague were the easiest to meet up new people.

Lienz, Solo travel

Except one encounter i generally felt very safe in Lienz. I can recommend visiting Tristacher lake and the Dolomitenhütte as well as Karlsbader Hütte. In my opinion the food was better outside of town, as an example at Marinellis or Dolomiten-Waldschenke in Amlach. I stayed at a friends house so I can't say much about hotels or public transportation.

Austria, Family travel

Austria has very beautiful mountain views, fresh air and it's very peaceful. I would like to go there again, we also rented a hotel, it was quite cheap. It's really cool to watch the sunrise and sunset there, I can't say anything about the food, as the prices are almost the same

Vienna

Vienna is generally safe and many people agree on fact that it is one of the safest cities in Europe. However, I would advice you to avoid Gumpendorfer Strasse and be very cautious on U6 line and S-bahn

Klagenfurt

It is a quiet town, with a high level of safey. After the dark, very few people are out. The main disadvantage is that public transport doesn't run in the night, and ordering taxis is not easy if one does not speak German.
