Florence was dreamy! There are a lot of sights, like the David statue and the Kathedrale. I was there on a study trip, so we visited a lot of art museums and the churches we're also really pretty, just go into a little church, they are really charming! A plant based Restaurant i personally really liked was "Santo Falafel" and the sandwich imbiss "Pitti Express" was also really good. I do have to criticise that the prices for me as a German are pretty high, but on markets, which there are several there every day, fruit and stuff ist not that pricey and very delicious! Also there are not a lot of parks in the central part of the city and not everything in Florence is a dream come true, cause there are also ugly sites: work environment for the people there is often hard and of course there are homeless people there, sexually harrassment is in italy also very high. So i think it's important to not overromanticize these places, but for me it was an unforgettable experience, also cause i had one of my best friends with me! PS: the fleamarkets are soo big

I went on a school trip some years ago, so it was a very large group and we always felt safe. Overall, it was easy to get around and we usually used public transport to move or we would just walk most places. Only warning isn't safety related, it's just that in Florence the bread isn't salted so that might be a surprise when you bite into it
Posted: April 8, 2025Florence is a really safe city. We were there in the middle of the night like 2 am. And it was still crowded even in February. Lots of tourist attractions and delicious food. We extended our trip because of this beautiful city. Would love to visit again in summer.
Posted: March 5, 2025Firenze is an incredible city that still preserves so much magic! You can easily imagine and feel how it was when da Vinci, Michelangelo, Alighieri and all the greats used to roam the same streets ✨ the feeling of getting lost in all the tiny streets, seeing the leather shops, having dinner in the amazing restaurants after a day of exploring and seeing some of the world’s best masterpieces is truly incomparable. I love this city so much that I go every year for my birthday now going on 4 consecutive years I cannot possibly recommend the city more it’s a must of traveling in Italy!

Beautiful scenery, lovely people and the best food I've ever had on holiday, for an affordable price too. Going there has made me want to move and live there forever. So many museums and places to see.

I stayed with my family in an Airbnb, we took the buses to go into the city, it was really easy to move around. People were nice even though I was the only one speaking English and a bit of Italian. The only thing I would really recommend is to book tickets in advance for every museum and of course to eat ice cream ! I fell in love with this beautiful city and their art. Very walkable city with a lot of things to visit.

I felt really unsafe in the city. There are organised groups that follow people across the city and steal from you without you even noticing. They stole from one person from my group. The city is filled with tourists and scammers although the monuments look marvelous. But that and the food are the only 2 things good about the city
Posted: December 27, 2024I felt generally safe in Florence. The weather was fine in April although it could get rainy all of a sudden. I stayed at a Hostel close to the train station, 10-15 minutes to the main attractions. I loved the gardens, loved the florentine steak and the city vibes.
Posted: August 28, 2024Experienced: March, 2024If you love art then this is a must to visit in Italy! I was recommended to buy pizza and bring it to the Piazzale Michelangelo and watch the sunset. Loved the enchanting Boboli Gardens after a long day inside of Uffizi Galleria. <3
Posted: July 31, 2024Nice city, lot of activities to do to discover the culture (muséum, pallazo, garden...(. The food is good if you avoid tourist trap. Super safe during the evening, I walked alone easily. I also recomand to take the train to discover small cities nearb y (Siena, Pisa(

I think Florence is a kind of safe city, since it’s small and full of young people such as university’s students. Also, there’s always someone in the streets because the city is almost always “awake”. Pay attention to your bag and stuff on public transportation, since someone could try to rob you (but like almost everywhere, don’t panic). Don’t walk around Cascine Park and the Central station of Santa Maria Novella alone in the night. I think Florence is pretty fine and you’ll be okay.
Posted: April 13, 2025Quite safe, if you stick to center especially in the tourist season, it feels pretty safe when you’re walking after dark… pickpockets are a huge problem though, in the public transport you have to be super ca
