Is Valdez safe for solo female travelers?

Valdez was beautiful and welcoming. It honestly looks like a rainforest when you're there in July. I drove from Anchorage to Valdez and that in itself was a trip. Some of the drive is not for the feint of heart. The canyon you drive through right before you hit Valdez is some of the most picturesque, gorgeous scenes I've ever laid eyes on.
