Is Cluj-Napoca worth visiting?

Solo travel

I went to Cluj for 3 nights in January. It was not the right time to go because it was snowing and you couldn't go outside without slipping almost every few moments. Trips from Cluj were very expensive, and public transportation was not good. I didn't really like this city, but the locals were always very friendly and helpful.

Since I moved here I didn't experience anything that would make me feel unsafe. I used to stay with friends in the city till after midnight and would come home alone and nothing happened. I was paying attention to my surroundings but I didn't have something to really be afraid of. Overall I would say it's pretty safe.

I feel much safer here than in Madrid (my home city), and the people are either kind or indifferent. I walk alone at night quite often, it's lovely. So far I have only been made comments, when I have walked around with my girlfriend (who is romanian). Nothing else.
