The experience was quite nice. You can sightsee here a lot because the City is small. Also you can use the tramway to go everywhere. Bailey Felix, Bear Cave, Piata Uniri are the famous places to see.

Oradea is quite a safe city for women, but there have been enough cases of femicide or assaults against women in Romania. It has happened to me a few times to be followed and to witness disturbing situations. In general, it’s an okay city, but I recommend that at night any woman should be accompanied or avoid walking through very dark and deserted areas.
Posted: September 4, 2025Oradea is a peaceful city oriented towards family life, however, the general values and opinions of people are conservative, misogynistic, and most women have internalized misogyny.

Oradea it's pretty safe, id say as someone who lived here her entire life. Never happend something unusual to me, people are very friendly and opened up. And about walking at night, nothing really scary. Of course, here are also some crazies, but in 99% of cases you are safe.
Posted: April 6, 2025Oradea is the most safe country in Romania. City center, and almost every neighborhood are very safe. I’d be worried only in Valenta neighborhood because there live other ethnic communities. Public transportation, walking around alone by night are overall safe.
Posted: March 30, 2025Oradea is a very charming and peaceful city as a whole and a great place to live or visit. As a local, i would say that there are only a few streets that feel a bit unsafe for a woman to be alone after dark, but very safe overall. People are chill and welcoming and will not mind interacting with tourists but will not bother them. Great architecture and coffee places :)
