I had a safe trip overall, although I sometimes faced racism because of my Asian features. People could call you Chinese or Korean without even asking first. Somehow, out of curiosity or whatever the reason, feel free not to tell anyone if you are not comfortable. There are lots of places to explore. The best sunset view is from Karni Mata Temple. You can enjoy a peaceful boat ride nearby, close to the cable car on the opposite side of the road. You can visit Sukhadia Circle to try a variety of street foods from all over India, including some Indo-Chinese dishes. Lake City Palace is a must-visit to learn more about the history of the Mewar kingdom and its wars. Sajjangarh Fort is also great for a 360-degree view of Udaipur city. For window shopping, you can visit Hathi Pole Bazaar for beautiful Rajasthani mojris and block-printed attire. Jagdish Temple is located in the city center, and you can enjoy a peaceful evening by Lake Pichola. A mesmerizing boat ride is also available at Lake Fatehsagar. If you love peace, you should definitely explore the outskirts of Udaipur: Bahubali Hills, Roop Sagar Lake, and the famous temple devoted to Lord Shiva, Ubeshwar Mahadev. You definitely won't regret it.
Posted: May 22, 2025Udaipur is a beautiful city. If you are travelling from outside of India, stay in a hostel ( dreamyard hostel preferred) and go for a sunrise tour. It's just amazing amazing view from there. Local food is very cheap buy tasty as hell. Try kachori and samosa and lassi please.

Posted: May 16, 2024I had visited Udaipur in August 22 with my husband. The weather was quite pleasant. It was raining at times though. We had rented a bike. It's a beautiful city. You will be in complete awe after seeing its vast lakes and magnificent palaces. The people are quite friendly and helpful. I had a good experience overall.

Udaipur is usually safe for women, I mean I have been living here since 7 years and I have drived home alone at 2 am, without worrying...I would say there are crimes here, but not the kind of crimes which would make me feel unsafe as a girl. Also the local people of this region ( Mewar) are very helpful and kind...So there is no need to worry even if you come solo.
