The southern part of Mumbai is very safe for tourists. Colaba has lots of hotels, cafes and restaurants. Locals are friendly and helpful, but there will also be people asking for money, so it's good to learn how to deal with that. Some men will be overly "helpful", in my experience it's best to be friendly but assertive when you decline their assistance.
Posted: December 9, 2025Experienced: December, 2024In general I find this city very safe. But as a foreigner I get too much attention. Some people are trying to take pictures of me. I don’t have experience with public transport, but Uber is very safe. I personally don’t feel ok with walking alone after 11 pm

Posted: May 30, 2025Mumbai is the city that never sleeps of Asia. My heart got stuck over there. As a woman, you obviously get a lot of attention, a lot of looks. I found the best way to handle it was to not look back, keep walking straight as if you know the way. I never had any problems worse than that.

Mumbai is absolutely the safest country for Women travellers in India! 🫶❤️ Come visit Mumbai and experience amazing food culture and nightlife. You can literally walk a deserted road at 3:00 am and you ll feel absolutely safe ( though I don’t recommend haha)

mumbai is one of the most safe cities in india, in comparison to other cities especially I am 18 years old and i dont feel unsafe using public transportation or walking on the road However it is not somewhere where you can be casually about your security and safety, you need to plan accordingly and make smart decisions Growing up in Mumbai has taught me everything i need to know to be safe but for first time travellers, it might be overwhelming
Posted: June 18, 2026I experienced true freedom and safety as an indian woman in mumbai compared to the rest of india. You have to still keep your wits about you , as is the case anywhere in the world. I have felt safe walking home at 2am with headphones in and thats saying something. But stay away from dark alleys and trust your gut .
Posted: June 2, 2026very safe, I've roamed around the city at night. police area everywhere, they're very prompt with their response. Just be careful or secluded areas to stay safe..... other than that book ola and uber to be on safer side

Hey girlies! 💕 I’m a software engineer who somehow ended up turning every “quick trip” into a full-on adventure. I code by day, travel by heart, and try to balance bug fixes with beach views 🌴
