Athens is a nice place if you are interested in art subjects, there's a few of importants museums of greek archeology. Also Greece has nice speciality coffee, so I suggest you to try a freddo espresso ! :) Unfortunately it didn't seem very safe for a solo female traveler. If you are staying in tourist areas like Plaka or near the Acropolis it's okay, but my hostel wasn't in those areas (but nearby) and it was a little sketchy by night, so be carreful.
