Trier is generally a very safe city for solo female travelers. It's a peaceful gathering space of students, locals, and tourists. Violent crimes are rare and people are generally respectful and open-minded. It is recommended to apply common travel precautions such as avoiding walking alone late at night in quiet, poorly lit areas. Always be aware of your surroundings, and stay in populated or touristic places where there's always people around.

Trier is honestly really beautiful. I enjoyed my time there even though it was fairly hot. My friends and I planned a small trip around the city and my favourite part was Porta Nigra. I hade some guys in my Friend Group so I felt rather safe, so I didn't pay too much attention to my surroundings and I can't make a detailled/accurate estimate

Trier is safe, but you definitely want to avoid Treviris in the night. In the day time Treviris can be like any other place. The Palastgarten is a beautiful place during the day time but I wouldn't recommend going there during the night.

Trier is pretty safe during the day. At night there are some areas that you should avoid (like in every city) like the central train station, the Palast Garten and the parcs in general. Otherwise it’s safe.

Trier was easily the most walkable city i’ve been to. It’s beautiful all around and queer friendly 🌈. I always try to observe how comfortable it would be to travel to new cities as a queer person and Trier did not disappoint. I felt very comfortable there, no weird looks or mistreatment. The food there was also delicious and the people are so nice.

About me

I’m currently living in Trier (close to the border with Luxembourg, Belgium and France) with my husband Pierre and our cat Mirabelle. 🐈‍⬛ The next big cities are Saarbrücken and Cologne. I’m German, French and Peruvian. I studied to become a German teacher but I don’t do that at the moment. 😅 I’m a very open, curious, social and warm person. My life goal: learn as many languages and see as many countries as possible. 😊 I love singing, dancing, playing volleyball, cooking, board games, traveling and hanging out with friends. But I also like just to chill and play video games with my husband Pierre.
