You don't really have to worry if you find yourself late outside but I don't wish you tho. There are a lot of foreigners so don't worry if you can't speak german. You will find the city's really lovely.

Posted: November 29, 2025I feel it is pretty chilled out. Not much to worry about. It has a night life too. People don't really bothher you. In the night too, it is like well lit. An I feel you can go around safely. It's a good place to live in
Posted: July 7, 2025Generally safe. It is very international, thanks to the University of Mannheim. Lots of young people. People are generally kind and helpful here. Has a big Turkish population too. However, I have encountered racism as a brown South Asian female and was also just there when a car deliberately drove into the crowd.

Mannheim is the largest city in the region with many foreigners. And as the major city, the insecurity level is low. However, there have been some cases where women have been sexually harassed or abused. You have to be alert during the day and take precautions at night to lower the danger level.
Posted: June 1, 2025The safety map shows areas in Mannheim where women have reported feeling unsafe.
