Generally very safe, people tend to be very closed but if you ask for help usually they are very open. Younger people are more open for diversity and a chat. Very occasionally some racist comments but less is the city than in urban areas.
Posted: September 13, 2026It is generally safe but few times people might be a little biased towards other races! I generally do not react much to any such looks or comments but i was once told in an angry time to speak German while i was talking to a friend in my mother tongue! It was weird!

Well Magdeburg is just like every other german City. It’s basically safe. I don’t feel unsafe when I’m waking outside by Day and not necessarily when I’m walking outside by night. I depends on which area your in and on what day. When there was an Football game and your walking outside at night, the chance is high that you meet more drunk men than usual, wich makes it unsafer and scarier. It’s just a normal city in Germany. I don’t feel unsafe alone at night, but if something slightly weird or...
Posted: April 17, 2026It is always depending on the city district you are. At day is everything fine. If someone can bring you home, would be always the best especially at night. Walk never alone through parks, when there are no lights.
Posted: October 23, 2025It's usually safe but in some areas I can't say anything but in the city centre where I live it's pretty safe and I love being here. I have heard some things from my German friends that it's not safe sometimes but I have never experienced it.
Posted: October 8, 2025It's overall very safe there are some parts where i would be careful after the night falls but still not scared just paying more attention. You do have to be careful wher you leave your bike though because it might get stolen

Traveled quite a bit, I spend 9 month in New Zealand with a Woking Holiday Visa, 3 years living and working in Mexico. Did some volunteering with turtles in Cabo Verde and with monkeys in Peru 💕 I love exploring new countries and cultures, prefer nature and activities over an all-inclusive resort. I'm up for a spontaneous city trip 😉

I'm an Indian student in Germany trying to see as much of Europe as I can before my visa runs out! 🇮🇳🇩🇪 I love nature, old buildings, and finding the best views. I try eating all the local pastries I can find. I’ve become a pro at sleeping on long, cheap bus rides just to get to a new city for the weekend. Whether it’s hiking or just getting lost in a new town, I'm always up for an adventure and a good photo! 🌍📸
