I went to school in this city would say that the city center and west of the city are safe. At night I would still recommend walking in groups rather than alone. Although I haven’t been attacked personally I think it is safer and potentially prevents being seen as a target. Especially the northern part of the city is said to have a higher crime rate. I remember being approached in a flirting way by grown men at dawn when I was 14 walking around the north of Hildesheim and central station area, so I would avoid walking around in these areas at night. In broad daylight I would deem the city relatively safe.

Well I think in the near of the trainstation around night it feels kinda sketchy but I live here now for almost 3 years and nothing happend. Never the less I would recommend not to walk alone at nights. I'm not scared at all that something gets stolen . Besides bikes. Yeah you should have an eye on your bike here
