It is quite a safe Town but there Are some parts which are more problematic. Overall people are mostly friendly and helpful. The area around the train station might feel off but usually it is quite safe

In general it’s quite a safe relatively small city. Just around the central station it can get a little scary sometimes, the rest of Hildesheim is quite save and nice to visit. Especially the old town:)

I went to school in this city would say that the city center and west of the city are safe. At night I would still recommend walking in groups rather than alone. Although I haven’t been attacked personally I think it is safer and potentially prevents being seen as a target. Especially the northern part of the city is said to have a higher crime rate.
