Hermannsburg is safe for travelers. BUT it's very christian and kinda conservative. 
Although it's not the best idea to go outside at night. Because we have a little problem with drugs here. But going outside in the night isn't really dangerous. The people just talk stupid shut and ask if u also want some drugs.
