Is Halle safe for solo female travelers?

Halle is generally a safe city for solo female travelers, with vigilant public transport systems and friendly locals. While petty crime like pickpocketing can occur, particularly in crowded areas or during festivals, it is not a significant threat with reasonable precautions. Solo travelers should avoid poorly lit or isolated areas at night, as in any city. There is a visible police presence, and the city benefits from a vibrant academic community, which often provides a sense of safety due to the youthful and dynamic atmosphere.

In my experience... barely anything happens here, sometimes teenagers might play with loud fireworks, but overall, it's a quiet city. The district where I live is considered a local ghetto, but it's only because there's a lot of immigrants, who I actually feel safe to be with and around :)

I mever experienced somthing bad at night, most people stayed calm. There are places that are more dangerous at night, like Neustadt, and the train station, so stay out of there. A freind of mine experienced sexual harassment in a train once when it was overcrowded but besides that nothing happened. When I was partying oht in the night I've always seen a police car around and officers that actually care. It is relatively quiet at night and I havent experienced any crime during the day. HOWEVER I've been catcalled a few times and I have had a few situations in which I didnt feel safe, maybe it...

I've personally only had positive experiences here. Occasionally, there will be people on the tram that appear highly intoxicated, loud and overbearing. I've often heard that people have experienced racism, transphobia, homophobia and violent cat-calling on the streets. Right-Wing violence has gotten more prominent in all of Germany. But I've not experienced this myself so far.

About me

I’m Mia, 21 years old and a Student in Halle in Germany. Right now I’m enjoying the summer here in Halle because I just came back from my Erasmus in France and I’m happy to be home again. I’m extroverted and open minded, always for funny things to have. My favorite trip so far was a hiking trip in Portugal, we hiked along the cliffs and it was just too beautiful!! ☀️🌊
