Halle is generally safe, however there are a lot of bicycle thefts, and Halle Neustadt is at daytime and especially at night very unsafe, there are a lot of armed robberies. In addition to that, you should avoid the areas near the train main station, there are a lot of drug dealers.

In my experience... barely anything happens here, sometimes teenagers might play with loud fireworks, but overall, it's a quiet city. The district where I live is considered a local ghetto, but it's only because there's a lot of immigrants, who I actually feel safe to be with and around :)

I mever experienced somthing bad at night, most people stayed calm. There are places that are more dangerous at night, like Neustadt, and the train station, so stay out of there. A freind of mine experienced sexual harassment in a train once when it was overcrowded but besides that nothing happened. When I was partying oht in the night I've always seen a police car around and officers that actually care. It is relatively quiet at night and I havent experienced any crime during the day. HOWEVER...
