Is Giessen Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Giessen is a small student city, it has a very nice and peaceful environment, it specially becomes live during the semester because lots of students are in town, overall I've never had a bad experience, can't say it's the most safe city, you should always be careful around bahnhof specially at night. But overall, I personally enjoy staying here.

Generally very safe, even the unsafe spaces are usually fine. It's more about catcalling or feeling unsafe because of drunk man at night. You don't need to worry about getting robbed or attacked in the traditional sense, pickpocketing is also no big deal.

I live in a small town near Giessen and I would say the crime rate here is roughly zero. Of course, there are also a few minor crimes, like smoking a little weed or selling a few things, but we live in a very rural area and have a good community.

Overall, Gießen is a relatively safe city with a large student population, thanks to its universities. Most crimes, such as theft, tend to target businesses rather than individuals. That said, like in many urban areas, it’s wise to stay alert, especially at night. Very safe for women, there are weird places like the train station at night - but you don’t have to be worried about getting raped or robbed as people there are usually passed out so they might weird you out but they are not dangerous

A small city where mostly students life, most people are willing to help if you have any questions. There are many young people living here but of course it depends on the area of the city. I feel save here.
