It’s a small city and one can be safe in most places during the night and day. The train stations sometimes can feel a bit more scary but never had a bad experience. It is good if you want to explore the nearby national park of the Black Forest and people are open.

Freudenstadt is called translated “happytown” and this is how you will experience it. People are kind and open minded and will be happy to help you! Maybe at the stations there are some strange people at night, but I never had any problems with them;)
