Helloo! I’m Charlotte, 20 years old, originally from Hamburg but moved to the smaller student city of Freiburg for university. I have loved my first year there, as it is very sunny, surrounded by green hills and social life is very easygoing:) In order to get some distance from my beautiful comfort in Freiburg, I applied for a scholarship for solo study trips (ZIS scholarship) and if everything works out with my visa I am going to Algeria! This little city was really charming. I really liked the market and the heart warming cakes. I’ve been welcomed freely by a woman thanks to “Couchsurfing” who was used to travel alone too. I was surprised by her big heart. We talked a lot that night, she gave me confidence with only few words. She prepared me food in advance and offered me a lunch for the next day (even if I was leaving this exact day). She even payed the drink… her kindness was melting my heart. I asked her why did she do all those things for me, and she answered “If only you could know what people gave to me, I have to return the favour.”
