I've been there a few times because my boyfriend lives there, and it's actually pretty quiet, especially in the mornings, and on weekends, there are often a few stalls to visit. It's also one of the most welcoming places for international students. 😁

Deggendorf is a small town in Bavaria, Germany (it could be considered as a village) I often walk alone at night after my late train, and never experienced nor heard anything terrible from others. There is a Hochschule (like University), so it’s quite and small town for students! There are also a lot of international students 😊

Overall very safe. But need to be careful with nightlife. You might get approached by strangers asking for your Instagram handle or number once in a while which is mostly harmless. But in the clubs you need to be careful since they are drunk and can get violent too.
Posted: April 22, 2025It is a really little town, but so much cat calling and i don't really feel that safe, unfortunatly. After living in cologne, a real city, is that really suprise, but it's because it's smaller and more villiage. It's more "traditional".
