Braunschweig is a pretty safe city, you have to be careful in some zones. No lights in parks after 10pm. Y You have public transport available every hour usually when it is past midnight. Not too big of a city, but not too small.

don‘t go to the Bohlweg at night! in general the inner city can be dangerous at night but police is always making their rounds so you feel somewhat protected. the rest of the city is pretty safe, especially during the day!

Over all I would consider Brunswik a safe town. I've never made a bad experience that's worth mentioning with people here when walking around town. Surely when walking home from Bars or Clubs you should keep an eye open, but I guess thats the case in almost every town ;) What I love about Brunswik is the fact that there are no areas here that you should really try to avoid.

Braunschweig is relatively safe. Its a student city i would say. Even in dark its safe to walk around however its always good to be cautious so stay away from weird strangers esp those homeless drunks on the side of the streets. Avoid being out too late and it should be fine.

Brunswick is a city which some right wing background, that’s why you should not go to specific places at night. But as long as you are not alone it is fine. I don’t visit places with people that are stereotypical so I’m just going to safer spaces and they have a view of those here. At those places it’s more then safe and very comforting!
