I'm living in Bochum since over 10 years and I never felt unsafe. There are some homeless people around the main Station, but they're not aggressive. Of course, I can't speak for each and every place in Bochum, because there are still places which I haven't been yet.

I've never had any issues in Bochum and I feel like as long as you're reasonable you should be safe. Obviously there is the local creeps, but theres one basically everywhere. I feel like as long as you're comfortable and present confidently you should be fine.

You are very safe here. Low criminals. You can go out alone as a woman no problems. The only thing you should be careful is alone at night behind the train station. You can do whatever you want and police is help8

Bochum is really Safe. There is Not much I can say really, I dont feel endangered when I Go out and Even when I went clubbing late at night I felt actually pretty safe. So there is no danger here.

Till now i found it safe enough for me to walk alone even at night haven’t experienced anything bad til now. I haven’t travelled at night alot but it seems safe to walk and people aee friendly. Enough lights are also there in street and good transport system.
