I'm living in Bochum since over 10 years and I never felt unsafe. There are some homeless people around the main Station, but they're not aggressive. Of course, I can't speak for each and every place in Bochum, because there are still places which I haven't been yet.
Posted: January 4, 2026I've never had any issues in Bochum and I feel like as long as you're reasonable you should be safe. Obviously there is the local creeps, but theres one basically everywhere. I feel like as long as you're comfortable and present confidently you should be fine.
Posted: December 8, 2025You are very safe here. Low criminals. You can go out alone as a woman no problems. The only thing you should be careful is alone at night behind the train station. You can do whatever you want and police is help8
