Pretty safe, don’t trust people in the night life though. People are overall nice and as long as you don’t talk to strangers too much you will be quite safe. Pupuhuhta and Kangaslampi are considered more sketchy parts of the city.

Jyväskylä is overall safe, but be cautious in the city center at night because that's when drunk people are there. It has gotten more dangerous if we compare now to 10 years ago but still there's mostly nothing to worry about.
