Is Joensuu safe for solo female travelers?

Joensuu is a safe town in North Karelia. Use your common sense as always, but you will be alright. City centre and train/bus station are safe. I've spotted a bike or two with missing wheels but that's it.

Joensuu is a very calm and usual finnish town. We do have occasional crimes but the crime rate is not alarming and its very safe town. Me and my girlfriends feel safe to walk alone and sometimes drunk during the night too. Follow regular caution, but its overall very safe place.

Best way to explain is to say that i don't feel scared to walk alone outside when coming from work around 1am, so i'd say its pretty safe! I live in quiet neighborhood, there's mostly old people and families with small Children (There's two kindergandens within 200m from my house).
