I can walk alone at night in the centre and nothing happens, no one approaches me, ofc i try to be in the streets where there is a lot of people, but even if i’m in some back streets i still feel safe so i think that’s a good thing. Nothing bad has ever happened to me in Prague, except for some drunkies speaking to me every now and then.

Hi! I’ve been living in Ostrava my whole life and I would rate the overall safety a good 7,5/10. When walking outside during the day I’m not at all worried about any serious danger. You might get cat-called however it doesn’t happen often. You may encounter some weird people but all you have to do is ignore them. During the night I’m also not worried but there’s no harm in keeping your guard a little up. Overall i feel very safe in Ostrava as a woman.
Posted: February 19, 2025Pilsen is a totaly safe place. I would still recommend to avoid Americká street in the night - it is the street with all the clubs and the night buses. People are usually very drunk and something could happen. People in Czech Republic are quite racist but they usually keep it to themselfs - unless drunk. It is very common to see drunk people in the streets during the day - but they are usually not harmful. In a moment of discomfort seek someone near - people care. Public transport is reliable and safe and so is the whole city.

Some parts of Prague are safe at night, some are dangerous even during the day. There are also large parks with no lighting that I wouldn't go into at night. On the other hand, way around the Vltava River, I wouldn't be afraid there even at night. It is lit, there are local restaurants in places and they tend to have beautiful decorations. I consider the center of Prague to be generally safe. It's lit up everywhere, you can see a homeless person sometimes, but they're mostly lying around and sleeping. The drunks are usually tourists.
Posted: February 16, 2025I think the Czech Republic is safe, but like in any country, there can always be some crazy person. I believe it’s mostly about being in the right place at the right time. Personally, I’ve never felt in danger, and I’ve been living in Prague for 22 years.

Posted: February 15, 2025Karviná is very safe City, you can go anywhere and feel safe. Also we have lots of monuments in the city and parks. People are really kind and friendly and always helpful when you need it. Also public transport is really good.
Posted: February 14, 2025Obviously sometimes bad things happen but nothing never happened to me so i would say be careful but not too much worried. In public take care of your purse and things that someone can take. And dont go out alone after 10pm or at least to some places. Maybe dont visit night clubs much if you dont want men trying to take you home or drug you.
Posted: February 13, 2025Feels safer than other european cities. preferably stay out of andel, palmovka, vysocany. Be careful at night because a lot of people smoke weed and can be unpredictable. But in generally Prague feels safe both day and night

I'd say it's pretty safe ( and I'm pretty paranoid when I'm walking home alone). I never hear about something crime-related happening here... I got cat called like 3 times, but given that I have lived here my whole life, it's not that many

Visited Loket in February 2025. It's a very small town that works great for a trip that is a day or two long. The castle is awesome - you pay 7€ for and explore EVERYTHING, all the towers & dungeons included. Unfortunately the Museum of Secret Societies was closed at the time, but I'd visit that, too. Very cozy brightly colored houses, great price to entertainment ratio for the castle, very few people this time of year.
Posted: February 18, 2025Experienced: January, 2025Really very very beautiful area. Beautiful forests, especially in autumn. Peaceful, not so many tourists, lots of castles, nice views, beautiful nature. As for safety, it's completely fine, we never met any suspicious people here. We must recommend the restaurant "Restaurace v Ráji" in the village "Ráj". Perhaps the best meal we've had so far. Large portions and surprisingly low price. Mácha Lake is very beautiful. You can swim here in the summer. We also recommend visiting the nearby ruins of Bezděz Castle. The hike is not difficult and it is a place everyone must visit. "Byl pozdní večer, první máj. První máj byl lásky čas. Hrdliččin zval ku lásce hlas, kde borový zaváněl háj." This is part of a poem in the original language by the writer Karel Hynek Mácha, who spent a lot of time in these regions and later IT was named here after him. This poem is very beautiful and it is our cultural treasure. Check it out.

Hi, I live with my husband and 2dogs in Prague. Both of us are partially architects. I love reading, yoga and hiking and he is techie and love music (all about it). Often we travel together, and we agreed that journey isn't complete if we don't spend a time with locals.
