Located on the edge of the Tyrrhenian Sea in the region of Calabria, Southern Italy, Tropea is a stunning coastal town renowned for its pristine beaches and rich history. Dubbed the 'Jewel of Calabria', it is best known for its vibrant blue waters, steep cliffs, and the Santa Maria dell'Isola, a picturesque monastery perched atop a cliff isolated by surrounding waters. This charming Italian destination is also famous for its locally grown red onions, the Tropea onion, which is a staple in local cuisine. In the heart of the town, the narrow, cobbled streets capture the essence of ancient Italy with many centuries-old buildings and palazzos that add to the town’s architectural grandeur.

We stayed at the La branda resort and it was wonderful. From a beautiful beach, a cute little city to explore and many other cities to visit nearby - it was all there. We also did some snorkeling there and could see a little marine sealife 🤿
