Very safe beach town community! Public transportation is difficult and unreliable but everything is in walking distance so no need for a bus! Leaving items at the beach while you go for a swim is fine in smaller beaches I would be cautious on main beaches for people nicking your belongings.
Posted: December 24, 2024Newport Beach is a fairly prominent city, however the beaches and the bars lining it do attract a fair amount of drunken antics after dark or during holiday events. Nothing unusual but general awareness is key. Fairly homogenously white area. Have experienced subtle racism but nothing overtly frightening
