Generally speaking, Ulan-Ude is safe for living, but I am still always trying to be as careful as possible here in Ulan-Ude. Once someone stole my mother's pouch from the car in broad daylight. Inside there was a really huge amount of money, though the police almost didn't do anything about it :\ And also I think it is not really safe to be outside after dark, because of drunk people on streets, so please be careful and go on taxi.

Mongolia
We went there for our holiday groceries.Because Russia has cheaper food.So we went to Titan. And while i was travelling i saw so many beautiful houses. But there was plenty of drunken people. I think someone who is solo travelling should be cautious at night. We didn't spend the night there so i can't give advice on that one
