I mostly sit at home, so I can't speak for others, but reading the news and what's happening, I'll say that the feeling is the same as in all Russian cities, if not more dangerous. So be careful always.
Posted: July 6, 2025This is my hometown. I've never had any problems here. But I still advise you to be more careful with yourself. Don't walk alone in the dark. I like my city, it's quiet and peaceful. But you can choose areas where you can have fun. Sometimes it's boring here

Astrakhan is a multinational city, in general it is safe here, but there are areas where you should not walk alone or at night, such as "Bolshiye Isady", " Trusovsky district". There is also the threat of attack by street dogs, on the main streets they appear alone, but in the courtyards there may be packs, so you need to be careful. The central areas are calm and beautiful
