Moscow is pretty safe, especially if you walk till 12am. People are generally friendly, and public transport is super convenient but safe, especially the underground. Sometimes it might be rather uncomfortable to walk at night but usually nothing happens

You can sleep in a subway and still have your things NOT stolen! You can feel totally safe walking in the city centre, but be careful taking night walks in residential areas. In general, we have a fairly peaceful atmosphere.

Moscow is actually a very safe city, you can literally leave your bag on a beach or in a cafe and most probably nothing will happen. Of course, criminals exist everywhere and incidents happen, so you should never forget about precautions and be careful. But overall, you should be pretty unlucky to face something if you stick to lit streets. But strangers could be dangerous! Be careful with them.
Posted: August 10, 2025Moscow is fine! People sleeping in the metro — that’s definitely true. But I don’t recommend walking alone at night in the sleeping areas. About me — nothing ever happened, but it can feel kinda scary. In the city center even naked walk — no one will offend you

Most areas of Moscow are very safe, except for some areas on the outskirts (Medvedkovo, Vykhino, and similar). The locals are very well-mannered, but there are sometimes unmannered migrants, but if someone starts bothering you, the Russians will definitely stand up for you, which I am proud of in my city! There are many police officers, especially in the center, so you are often safe here.
Posted: August 4, 2025It was a really nice trip. You can travel on a budget. There’s lots to see and do. I’d definitely try local cuisine, there’s a wide choice of dineries. Taxi is affordable, safe. Avoid travelling in the rush hour, the streets can be blocked.
