Moscow is pretty safe for solo female travelers! As a 24 y/o local girl, I walk alone at night in central areas without issues. Just avoid empty streets, use trusted taxis (Yandex/Uber), and ignore sketchy strangers. Basic precautions go a long way - I feel safer here than in many European capitals. š
Posted: April 19, 2025Actually, itās pretty safe here. Itās very comfortable to use public transport especially during the day. Obviously, there are some strange areas where you should now go alone during the night, such as Chertanovo or Himki but they are not so popular among tourists.

I would say that Moscow is quite a safe city. Street robbing is rare as well as public harassment. You can see drunk and inadequate people in the streets, but most of the time they mind their own business. Metro has it's own safety system and police officers. There are in fact people with PTSD from previous armed conflicts and they are dangerous. Plus at bars and clubs men sometimes touch women, but you can report them to bar workers and club bouncers
Posted: April 13, 2025moscow is full of cameras and police post and patrols everywhere. It works even at night. People in russia in most cases are very good and will help in emergency even if you are a stranger to them. dont be afraid to ask
Posted: April 13, 2025I live in Moscow all my life, and I have only once experienced a sexual assault-a man in a subway in a rush hour tried to lean towards my back with his hand. Other than that I have had only positive experience of living and travelling around Moscow. My advice only to use official taxi services, and look after your personal belongings

Moscow is quite safe in my opinion. There are policemen patrolling from time to time, and I think people are friendly overall, so you won't be left without help. There might be some catcalling happening, but ignoring usually works. For all my life I've never had a major safety issue there

Definitely the safest russian sity, there is ton of cameras everywhere, a lot of lights, and police. I can go for a walk in the middle of the night and feel pretty comfortable But to be fair, my friends and I have experienced a catcall and harassment

I would say Moscow is pretty safe even for solo woman traveling. We donāt have ādistricts you should not go toā, usually itās whether center of the city, or the āsleeping districtsā as we call them, used for living. After dark I walk safely, but keeping myself aware just in case. I heard a story of my friendsā phones stolen a few times in my life, but in general I always use it on the street. The situation of someone stealing a bag right from my hands is impossible.
Posted: April 7, 2025Everything depends from the particular region of Moscow and the amount of people nearby. I would not recommend to stay alone especially in such places as clubs, concert halls and etc. But generally in touristic and crowded places - everything is fine (only exception - public transport, where sometimes you can face unwanted attention)

Safety depends on the district youāre staying. The centre of the city is very safe. I live in the central area, and I feel very safe using public transport and walking even at night. Moscow is a safe place for solo traveling.
Posted: March 29, 2025It was a really nice trip. You can travel on a budget. Thereās lots to see and do. Iād definitely try local cuisine, thereās a wide choice of dineries. Taxi is affordable, safe. Avoid travelling in the rush hour, the streets can be blocked.
