Overall, I’d say that Russia is quite safe, especially for women travelers who use common sense and stay aware of their surroundings. Personally, I’ve heard of rare cases where someone got robbed or pickpocketed, but this is not something that happens often. Sexual harassment or assault in public places is very uncommon, and when it does happen, it usually becomes a big story in the media. Most of the crime that happens in Russia tends to occur between people who already know each other like family conflicts, fights between friends or colleagues rather than random attacks on strangers. As a tourist, especially as a solo female traveler, I believe it’s very unlikely that someone would try to hurt you if you don’t provoke anyone or get into risky situations. The biggest issue I’d warn about is scammers especially online. There are many fake listings or fraud attempts on local platforms like Avito (our version of Craigslist), and also scam calls pretending to be banks or officials. So my advice would be: never trust strangers on local sites or people asking for money transfers or personal details. In person though on the street, in cafes, on transport I’ve always felt safe, and most people are friendly or simply mind their own business.
Posted: July 19, 2025Here’s pretty safe, the most worrying thing is drunk people at late night wandering around the streets But some of them are super calm, some are trying to catch your attention When you walk in crowded places you’re not that worried that something bad is going to happen
Posted: July 18, 2025at night its really hard to stay outside alone, it’s better be there with group (of girls, friends) or to be mostly in public (mostly city-centre) places, cuz there’s you might be only cat-called that’s the only unsafe moment in the places near red square ex: Lubyanka, Chinatown, etc.

Novosibirsk is not the safest place in Siberia but especially Akademgorod is more quiet and safe. You shouldn’t walking alone in the dark in the forest because there are many crazy people and exhibitionists but I almost always feel safe going alone in the downtown

Well, Moscow is quite a safe city - many cameras and police everywhere… but of course unfortunately men may get you somewhere - in the streets, bars etc. and try to “flirt” with you. but it happened to me only several times. I do not worry about being robbed at all, and our transport system is very safe. But beware of drunk ppl or police checking!
Posted: July 15, 2025In general, Moscow is a very safe city for women (compared to my experience in Latin America). Here in Moscow, no matter what time it is, you can go for a walk alone around the city without fear of being robbed or kidnapped. There are policemen and people are very respectful.

About the city itself. I can't say that I wanted to move there, but as a tourist I liked it. Walking, low-rise, but with very heavy traffic and heavy traffic jams in the evenings. I liked the logistics, it was the public transport system that was quite convenient in my opinion, and unlike my city, I could walk to the key points where I wanted to go in 40 minutes or an hour. While in Volgograd, I won't even leave my neighborhood during this time because of the length of the city along the river. The center is old, the buildings are many years old, and they are not being demolished because they are essentially architectural monuments from the pre-war era. Of course, there are also new apartment buildings, and some areas are being actively developed, but the vast majority of buildings are low-rise and medium-rise, which makes the city feel less crowded and more pleasant to walk around. I also liked the air, which is lighter and cleaner than in Vlg Where have I been? I managed to visit two exhibitions in different museums, namely, I got acquainted with the history of Kuban during the Second World War and looked at the collection of paintings of the XVI- early XX centuries. Of course, where am I without an art gallery?) I visited a Safari park, looked at different animals and took a break from people. I walked through parks and squares, and of course, in the famous Galitsky Park, it's really beautiful there. I went on an excursion to Adygea, as you can see from the pictures) the mountains are a dump of everything. Very filled that day with some grace, energy, peace and love for life. What do I remember especially? Rain on the first evening when I got off the train and the next two days, adventures with the hotel (there was always some trouble with the room). Coffee on the walk on the first morning there. Trip to the mountains: observation decks, cave, air, road in the bus, cheese tasting. Chistyakovskaya grosh at 9 am and confusion for the rest of the day. 30 thousand steps and the Kuban embankment. Chatting until 4 a.m. waiting for the train at the station. All of this left a warm impression in my memory. In summary, this was my first trip where I was alone. I guess I need to get used to spending so much time alone, but to be honest, I couldn't help but think about how much I would have enjoyed having someone by my side (a friend, parents, or just a close person). In any case, it was a new and memorable experience for me. I am grateful to myself for this. It's a pleasant feeling of growing up, when you earn your own money, make your own decisions, and don't depend on anyone else. That's how it went) Thank you for reading to the end.

Very beautiful town, highly recommended. Underestimated IMHO. I adored nature, surroundings, German architecture. The place is being embellished constantly, so each time you visit it you can find new things. ♥️
