Is Ulan-Ude safe for solo female travelers?

Ulan-Ude is generally quite safe for solo female travelers. Like with any travel destination, it is still necessary to exercise the typical precautions. This includes avoiding isolated areas at night and keeping personal belongings secure. Speaking a bit of Russian or having a translation app can significantly help, as English is not widely spoken. While violent crime is rare, there can be instances of petty crime like pickpocketing, which means you should always be aware of your surroundings.

We went there for our holiday groceries.Because Russia has cheaper food.So we went to Titan. And while i was travelling i saw so many beautiful houses. But there was plenty of drunken people. I think someone who is solo travelling should be cautious at night. We didn't spend the night there so i can't give advice on that one

How safe is Ulan-Ude for women?

It's ok. Of course we have some unsafe neighbourhoods but mostly it's safe. And all places a tourist goes to are really safe as well. The center of the city is living day night, there are a lot of people always.

Generally speaking, Ulan-Ude is safe for living, but I am still always trying to be as careful as possible here in Ulan-Ude. Once someone stole my mother's pouch from the car in broad daylight. Inside there was a really huge amount of money, though the police almost didn't do anything about it :\ And also I think it is not really safe to be outside after dark, because of drunk people on streets, so please be careful and go on taxi.
