Despite its popularity as a tourist hot-spot, Chefchaouen has a small village mentality, and therefore everyone knows one another. The tourist areas are well policed by the local Tourist Police, and local residents are always polite, friendly and welcoming. Unlike other areas of Morocco, the haggling and harassment from shopkeepers is not at all aggressive and most tourists report a pleasant experience. I have walked all over Chefchaouen at all times of night and have never felt threatened or scared.

I felt so safe. I recommend going.to akshour a waterfall next to chefchouan. It’s very beautiful and nice Very calm Food in Morroco is better indoors. Budget I spent around 13 euros hostel in 15 euros activity per day I did hitchhike to the waterfall. One day in chefchouan is enough. Super touristy tho
