For foreigners Marrakech is very safe at daylight and at night especially in the center of the city All my friends who came from abroad told me that they feel so safe in Marrakech because whenever you’re you can find police and people are so nice
Posted: June 19, 2025Safe but don’t trust in people they may cheat you on the price of things and raise the prices. They also try to force you to buy things from them or eat. Most of them are kind, but some try to force you to do things, so be careful. They are generally kind people, but beware of going into the old city at night, especially in the late hours and in the alleys that are dark. Always go to public places that are full of people. If you are exposed to any harm, go to the police because they are quick to take action and will help you.
Posted: March 28, 2025I did grow in marrakech and its a very modern and alive city where many communities coexist , you can't easily find urself alone in principale roads even late at night wich is greatly reassuring for a solo female traveler.
Posted: February 3, 2025It is safe, just avoid empty and dark Alley's at night and stay aware of your surroundings. Don't roam around in places you don't know alone, and be firm (don't be overly nice to strangers). If you're not sure about something just ask someone around, people are helpful.
Posted: January 12, 2025I found Marrakech to have a high level of harassment, comments, catcalling and aggressive sales techniques. During the nighttime it was relatively quiet but I did not feel safe due to behaviours during the day.

My hometown is one of the most famous touristic destinations in the world, as a girl I feel very safe to go out alone at night, I usually find myself followed by undercover cops who keep me company or try to protect me (as a local I developed the skill to recognize cops from normal people 😂) everywhere I go, everyone is helpful and even guys are protective and either give me advice or keep me company to make sure I’m safe even if it’s not needed, people would show me the way if I seem lost without me having to ask.. in daytime people invite me for tea everywhere (this is the way we do it in Marrakech) and so much more

Surprised me by how safe I felt. I was only bothered a few times while in the medina, which is to be expected as people will try to scam you, but if I wasn’t interested in buying anything, I’d ignore them and they’d leave me alone pretty quickly. Stayed in and airbnb in Gueliz and absolutely loved the area. Felt less busy than the main centre, but still had lots of shops and restaurants around. Lots of options for food for vegetarians! Traveled around Morocco to other cities and used “In Drive” more so than taxi’s. In Drive technically isn’t illegal in the country, but most of the drivers aren’t registered taxis, so taxis do report them to the police to try and get them fined. That’s why if you use In Drive, your driver will probably park a bit away from you and any other taxi’s. I found the app to be much better than taxi’s as you offer a price on the app for where you want to go, and drivers can accept that price, or offer to do it for a different price. Once you confirm, the driver’s always stuck to the agreed on price for us, however official taxi’s can often try to charge you more than the trio is worth. If you’re thinking about doing any activities, you should definitely do quad biking and take a trip up to the Atlas Mountains. I booked my experiences through Airbnb and both were amazing!
Posted: June 18, 2025Experienced: December, 2024It was a nice sunny city with little alleys everywhere just a tad bit overpriced for the average moroccan salary tbh, also make sure to always negotiate and if you want to buy pottery souvenirs try going to Oulja in Salé instead, a whole lot cheaper!!!!!!! Almost half the price
