Safe but don’t trust in people they may cheat you on the price of things and raise the prices. They also try to force you to buy things from them or eat. Most of them are kind, but some try to force you to do things, so be careful. They are generally kind people, but beware of going into the old city at night, especially in the late hours and in the alleys that are dark. Always go to public places that are full of people. If you are exposed to any harm, go to the police because they are quick to take action and will help you.
Posted: March 28, 2025I did grow in marrakech and its a very modern and alive city where many communities coexist , you can't easily find urself alone in principale roads even late at night wich is greatly reassuring for a solo female traveler.
Posted: February 3, 2025It is safe, just avoid empty and dark Alley's at night and stay aware of your surroundings. Don't roam around in places you don't know alone, and be firm (don't be overly nice to strangers). If you're not sure about something just ask someone around, people are helpful.
Posted: January 12, 2025I found Marrakech to have a high level of harassment, comments, catcalling and aggressive sales techniques. During the nighttime it was relatively quiet but I did not feel safe due to behaviours during the day.

Marrakesh is the most touristic city in Morocco so it's got special attention from the government for its benefits on the national economy. The city is overall safe/safer than most cities in Morocco. It has a special police force (Hadar) to attend to tourists and is tough on crime. Obviously, it's not without its flaws, as with any other city in the world. As a solo female traveler, you will be catcalled and flirted with. Street vendors will insistently try to sell you things as well as scammers who will sell you cheap things at high prices, so be mindful when shopping.

My hometown is one of the most famous touristic destinations in the world, as a girl I feel very safe to go out alone at night, I usually find myself followed by undercover cops who keep me company or try to protect me (as a local I developed the skill to recognize cops from normal people 😂) everywhere I go, everyone is helpful and even guys are protective and either give me advice or keep me company to make sure I’m safe even if it’s not needed, people would show me the way if I seem lost without me having to ask.. in daytime people invite me for tea everywhere (this is the way we do it in Marrakech) and so much more

Marrakesh is fairly safe. Usually there is not an occasion where I find myself alone after dark, the nightlife is fairly busy so there is always people around. It’s less safe for me as a local than it is for a tourist. There are tips to make sure you are always safe. The biggest thing is catcalling, it very very rarely goes further than that, I felt more in danger in my years in France than my whole life in Morocco.

I loved visiting Marrakesh solo this past weekend. I generally felt safe, but I did have an eye out for danger at all times just because of everyone saying that I should. I met another solo lady from this app and we did a free walking tour at the beginning of the weekend so we ended up meeting 2 more solo ladies that joined us for lunch and other activities. My favourite place to visit was the Medrasa Ben Youssef which was a Quran school with students accommodation. Also the Bahia palace was fascinating. I did a tour to the Agafay desert and cuddled some camels. I got a traditional black soap bath and argan oil massage which I loved and I also took a tagine cooking class!!! I loved all of it!
