Petroupoli is located in the west suburb of Athens. With the public transportation is in 1 hour reach from the center. It is a safe town with a lot of cafes and bars. We can also go for a walk at the mountain (Poikilo oros).

I spent almost a month traveling solo in Athens. I felt safe...but was very cautious about pickpockets in large crowds. There are a lot of beggars on public transport, but they weren't pushy and were generally polite. I only had one unpleasant experience at the beach. While I was tanning, I looked to my right and saw an old guy "playing with himself" and staring at me...awkward! Normally, I would have freaked out, filmed him, and called the police...but since it was a relatively deserted beach, I packed my things and went to another one. Otherwise, everything was fine. Even walking alone through the city center at 3 a.m., I felt safe.
Posted: August 13, 2025If you travel in known places it's pretty safe. But, if you walk in more empty or sketchy places (and there are a lot of them) then keep an eye out, especially if you are alone. Also, the Greek police probably won't help you so don't rely on them. Stay safe queens 🙏

The only thing I'm afraid of is all men and fascists. Otherwise, many people in Greece act with solidarity and empathy, as I'm with at least one friend of mine out at night, I'm not afraid at all. But women and queer people might be not safe alone and that's why we build communities and safe spaces 🩷

Thessaloniki is a safe city ! The only area you should avoid at night is “Bardaris” and it’s the west side of the center !! Overall I haven’t experienced anything in my time here! I’m 6 years in Thessaloniki

Tinos is a lovely island with a local vibe. It is not as overpriced as other greek islands and has its own charm. It also culturally interesting as it has it own customs. It felt quite safe as well to travel around.
