Thessaloniki is kind of safe. Unfortunately like so many other cities you must watch for pickpockets, walking alone at night depending on the area and sexual harassment also depending on the area and the time of the day

Its pretty safe and i never say no to anything because im worried about my. I will never feel 100% safe but that has nothing to do with Ialyssos. I tryly recommend this area of Rhodes when visiting here as its also easy to get around.
Posted: September 19, 2024Galatsi is an area which might be outside of the center but it is not that fat away as well. It has more the sense of the neighborhood and of course, there is no place that can grant total safety, but I would say it is pretty safe. There are always people around and also has the big street Leoforos, which makes it easier to walk alone at night.
Posted: September 10, 2024Athens is not safe for solo travellers. Especially the Athens center. If you want to visit Athens, choose to live in the north like Kifisia or Marousi where you can easily take the green metro line and visit the center of the Athens during the day and not the night hours.
Posted: September 8, 2024In athens you need to keep an eye on your belongings at all times and also especially if you are a tourist look like you know where you are going. It will be safe if you do those things. Also dont just aimlessly wander in the center because there are pretty bad areas outside the touristic zone and actually very close to it. Just be aware and you will be fine.

Thessaloniki is my hometown, so I feel a bit safer here than I would if it were my first time visiting. Overall, it can be a bit unsafe for girls, but I still recommend it for solo travel as long as you're careful.
Posted: August 28, 2024If you are walking around near Nea Ionia station, you have to be aware of people that are trying to scam you. Usually are women who target other women, their purpose is to give you "free" samples of makeup products but they are not free. They scam you to pay. This thing is happening almost in all metro stations and the places nearby
Posted: August 18, 2024There are certain areas in the centre of Athens, that I wouldn’t walk alone. Take public transportation or a taxi if its very late at night. If possible book your accommodation more central areas.Overall you will feel safe.
Posted: August 15, 2024Overall, the town is small and safe to walk around. It’s quite friendly towards tourists. However local men can get aggressive in some more rural areas in the district of chania. In addition, driving can get quite dangerous, since most local drivers do not respect the law and drunken driving is common.
Posted: August 15, 2024In general I consider the capital cities one of the safest in Europe. At least the dodgy areas are a few and we can avoid them. The tourist areas are filled with pickpockets. Verbal sexual harassment in the streets especially at night. Physical sexual harassment in the subway in the centre and pickpockets. Not very tolerant towards LGBTQ+ people although things are getting better.

I always felt safe. There were no instances where I felt my safety was in jeopardy, and the people were kind. There was good food and interesting activities, and it was not as expensive as I expected for Europe.
Posted: September 27, 2024Experienced: April, 2023Walk up and down as many streets as possible in Plaka. Enjoy the many cafes and eateries. Take in the sights. And smile at the friendly locals and fellow travellers. Have a wonderful time in this beautiful and historical city!

I'm dying to explore new countries and learn about cultures. My favorite is mountain climbing next to waterfalls and swimming in the sea at sunset :)) My goal is to see the northern lights up close🤪
