It's very safe and beautiful. It's a city for both families and night life to enjoy. There is a university so there are many young people studying there. The food is great. It's also the city of coffee

Thessaloniki in most parts is 100% safe all day and night long . There are certain places you should avoid walking by or staying because there are “ghettos” near the main bus station and train station . There is also a neighbourhood you should avoid at any cost and I’m not even joking it’s called Dendropotamos . Otherwise the centre of the city, Aristotelous square , Saint Sophia , Navarinou Square and everything east and north from that are very safe to go and live . There are also west side districts that are great like ilioupoli and euosmos but you should drive there. Also , Thessaloniki is not a great place to ride a bike.

It's really safe Especially compared to other places. I have had some experiences of sexual harassment but that was only in remote places. Unfortunately or fortunately men from Muslim countries are more prone to harassment. So try to avoid them just for safety! We do not support racism of course but we are aware of the situation.

Athens is a fairly safe city during the day, at least in my experience though stares and the occasional catcalling is something to be expected sometimes. Is not a big pick-pockety city (nothing like Barcelona) but I would be careful with my stuff and who I give my phone or camera to for pictures especially around touristic areas. I always drive or take a taxi home when it's after midnight and I have more than 5 minutes to walk to where I want to get. I avoid quiet streets and yeah, I would say I'm worried about harassment in the night.

The center of Athens is overall safe but you have to be careful in which neighborhoods you end up because if you leave the touristic places it can become rly unsafe. I don't really feel comfortable walking alone at night so I would advise caution

I have never had an issue in Thessaloniki. We all know that men are everywhere and we will never escape comments and some harassment. But the likelihood in Thessaloniki seems quite low. I often walk/run around the city centre late at night and have had no issues.

I loved my stay in Mykonos. I am safe even in the street in the evening, because it is a tourist city above all. I also recommend for the experiences to do, whether it is the day with a boat cruise, or the evening in a club
Posted: July 29, 2025Lefkada is really an amazing place. I went with my aunt and managed to meet some locals who were all well-behaved and showed me around. There were people from all over the world, but the most important thing is that we felt completely safe at all times. Overall, I want to go again, so I can discover more interesting places I didn't manage to see this time around. I hope to go again next year by myself. Ithaka is also amazing. ❤️
