Kanallaki is a really safe place, it is a small place with not many things happening. We have some rare cases of house robberies but only when they are empty, it is not a place where many people get hurt, the only real danger is drunk driving.
Posted: January 20, 2025Thessaloniki is the second biggest city in Greece. It has a lot of students, and people from different backgrounds. Criminally rates are low, but we always have to be aware. I am always worried about sexual harassment, although it is not common in my city. Public transport is cool and it’s a vivid city. You are going to meet people at the street every day and night. Due to its extreme nightlife there is always something around u can call for support. Also Greeks are very helpful.
Posted: January 20, 2025I live in a safe neighborhood with a lot of stores and open cafes till night. I feel safe and I am always alerted and careful but nothing ever happened. There is a night bus which works all night and with which we can return home safe.
Posted: January 19, 2025There is not the same amount of safety in every area of Athens, as it is a big city , but it is not the safest. When buses are crowded it is possible to be assaulted , especially heading to the poor areas . In the center There are some areas full of dangerous people like omonoia and one side of metaxourgio .

I feel very safe in Thessaloniki. It's the perfect city to go out and have fun, go for drinks, food, etc. as well as going for a walk alone, spending time with yourself, etc. as well as doing new activities with friends or alone

Kalamata is a small city in peninsula. Everyone here is calm and all we do is to have fun with our friends and family. Even kids are out until midnight with their bikes and hanging out. We love good music, good food and good wine. You can walk anywhere without feat. And I can tell you that because I used to live in Athens.. since I moved here it was my first time that I didn't feel afraid for going home late at night by myself. That's why I love this city.
Posted: January 17, 2025I do have my keys in my hands when I walk alone late at night. I do check behind my back. They followed me two different times when I was returning home and it was scary. We lock two times in the night. There are certain areas "forbidden" for women, especially in the night.
Posted: January 16, 2025Patras is a medium safe place were u can actually find people to stick with. There are some bars that u would feel safer than other bars. People are most of the times kind and open. Students population is big, and so are the things happening/organised by them.
Posted: January 16, 2025I would say that is pretty safe, if you are staying in the Center there’s a lot of people around all day and is pretty lit at night. As a local I had no problem walking even after midnight but I’m walking in the main roads. I would say that is better to avoid the area around to the train station.
Posted: January 15, 2025Trikala is an overall safe city with its night walk unsafe places, because they are scary. Nothing really bad happens and you can mostly walk safely. At night the roads are mostly empty so that would be a little intimidating.

Poland
I was staying in Souroti (near Thessaloniki) for about 3 weeks as a volunteer in a dog shelter. The experience was amazing, the town was extremely small but you could feel the greek atmosphere everywhere. I’ve felt very safe both in Souroti and Thessaloniki. The food (and all the other necessities) was definitely affordable, prices quite similar to Poland. There are some buses that can take you to bigger cities. I recommend walking around the area to see the beautiful views, but be careful on the busy streets and careless drivers!
Posted: January 16, 2025It’s wasn’t safe at all and it’s not interesting . The sea is really bad and it’s actually stinks . The food was not so bad , but I was for sure tried something better than that . The citizens aren’t that much of friendly and they look at you kind of weird .
