I take public transport here regularly and am not worried. During the day I don't feel the need to be aware of my surroundings, during the night a little bit. I left my bike loked at the train station here for a weekend and it didn't get stolen.
Posted: May 15, 2024Like many other places in Germany, overall the city is save. There are low chances of pickpocketing as it is a small town and it does not have many tourists. I feel comfortable walking alone at night.
Posted: March 30, 2024Braunschweig is a relatively small city and I feel perfectly safe going around by myself during the day. People generally mind their own business. There are some clubs where you can party at night. It’s generally safe, but I would be a bit more cautious there.

Brunswick is not a small village where everyone knows everyone, so petty crime or the occasional creepy dude on a street corner exist. I'd maybe advise against staying in the Weststadt quarter, if you can, as it's not the greatest place to walk alone at night. Overall, I feel very secure here - personally, I'm honestly more worried about being hit by a car due to Brunswick's subpar car users, than being seriously harassed or assaulted. That hopefully gives you an idea of how much of a topic this type of security is in my life here.

Hi! My Name is Davina. I am grateful to have my own flat for the first time in my life, so now I can host! During the pandemic I started feeding a crow couple that lives close to my flat and now I am fully invested:D I studied in Madrid for a semester. Now, I'm working my first full-time job and get out of the rut I fell into. I like talking/listening to new people and trying new things.
