I consider Tampere as a safe place to live. I have walked home in the dark dozens of times and I've never experienced anything scary. Obviously it's always good to be careful but you shouldn't be to worried in Tampere.

Tampere is a very safe city. I have never had to be scared when I'm alone here even after dark and I often walk alone in the city centre after a party etc. as I live quite near. I recommend Tampere for female travellers!
Posted: January 8, 2025Alltough our country have high level of violence against women I could argue that you'll be safe if you stay with other girls and ask them to quide you with finnish men if needed. Alcohol can make men here act aggressive but mostly violence against women is domestic.

Tampere is a very safe city despite being one of the largest in Finland. Finland in general is very safe. I dont see or hear about crimes hardly ever. For example the most usual danger my parents worry about are the slippery roads in the winter time, not the people.

Pretty safe, if you stay out of the city center at night. Never experienced any harassment or anything. Lot of students and refugees (especially in Hervanta). Would still keep an eye on the valuables when there's a lot of traffic.
Posted: December 25, 2024I feel like Finland overall is a very safe country and this applies also to Tampere. However I am a white woman so I cannot speak for every aspect. In Tampere there is more different cultures present than there is in some Finnish towns so people in here are more used to seeing people with different racial backrounds.
Posted: December 23, 2024Tampere is a safe city, maybe in the recent years some crimes have occured more than in the past, but very safe and clean and easy city. To go around alone as a female is uncomplicated, and the people will help out if you need help.

I would say Tampere is very safe, but avoid walking alone 22-05 or if you are drunk. Stay with other women. There might be drinken people evenings and weekends, but they are mostly harmless. Finland generally and all Nordic countries are very safe for women.

Tampere is one of the bigger cities in Finland with 255 000 people, but it still feels safe and sort of cosy. The crime rate is low but there has been a slight rise in the last couple months. I have never experienced any harrassment, sexual or other wise.
Posted: October 1, 2024Usually very safe. Very rarely you see random drug users on the streets and only in certain areas. The town centre and most neighborhoods are very safe even to walk home in the middle of the night. If you need a taxi, use Uber or bolt as they’re most reliable.

Hi there! I'm Ayesha, currently pursuing my Master's degree in Tampere, Finland. I live with my husband. Originally, we both are from Pakistan, and we have always had a passion for exploring new cultures and places. I'm really into makeup and beauty trends, and I love experimenting with new looks. Besides that, traveling is a major passion of mine. I enjoy discovering new destinations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and experiencing different cuisines. We believe we are really fun people to be around😄😄😄. And if you decide to host us anywhere, we will be very good guests 😁 and we don’t create messes haha. We are happy to help you out at your place, exchange cultures and even cook a traditional Pakistani meal. We would love for you to travel with us too. And when you decide to come to Tampere ( it is a really beautiful city, just underrated) in Finland we would love to host you and show you around. We have a spacious 2 room apartment. With a kitchen, bedroom and living room. So we can easily host too as theres an extra living room. Looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing stories
