Tampere is a safe city, maybe in the recent years some crimes have occured more than in the past, but very safe and clean and easy city. To go around alone as a female is uncomplicated, and the people will help out if you need help.

I would say Tampere is very safe, but avoid walking alone 22-05 or if you are drunk. Stay with other women. There might be drinken people evenings and weekends, but they are mostly harmless. Finland generally and all Nordic countries are very safe for women.
Posted: November 7, 2024Helsinki in general is a very safe city. I want to start off that I personally live in one of the more “restless” areas that is known to have a lot of drug users and if something violent happens it’s most likely here. With that being said I’m still not scared to walk around alone during the night or don’t have to worry about someone assaulting me. Those types of incidents most often occur between the drug users themselves. Never had a case of pickpocketing happen and the locals are very respectful of personal space. The overall proficiency of English is very good and people are very willing to help. From the safety point of view I’d definitely recommend Helsinki!
Posted: October 22, 2024I feel myself safely all the time. I walk with the dog at 10pm-1am and nothing was ever happened. Have been living in the city around 10y Also sexual harassment is nonsense here. Public transport is safe and secure, because bus driver has alarm button to call police whenever you are. So it is safe and I didn’t hear any stories about harassment or any other crimes in the city last time.
Posted: October 19, 2024Helsinki is safe, especially for solo female traveller. Do practice common sense though! Pick-pocket does happens, especially at the central railway station. Generally Fins dont approach strangers on the street even if they think you are their “love at 1st sight”. So personally I’ll be extra cautious if someone approaches me, especially if its a man. Its most likely he is drunk or high or going to ask for small changes.

You don’t have to be scared of anything in Sastamala. People there don’t care about you in a good way, and they let you mind your own business. I am walking there very often in the evenings when it is already dark, and I have never been scared of anything.

Tampere is one of the bigger cities in Finland with 255 000 people, but it still feels safe and sort of cosy. The crime rate is low but there has been a slight rise in the last couple months. I have never experienced any harrassment, sexual or other wise.
Posted: October 1, 2024I have been living here for more than a month, and I go out all the time, yet still nothing happened, and no one approached me. I feel so safe here to leave my stuff and then come back to them again. It's a great city in a great country.

Turku is one of the biggest cities in Finland, but still very safe. The city is cozy and I feel safe here. In Finland you can move outside at any time, of course it's always good to be sure that someone knows where you are and check on your friends, but here I think you can be very peaceful in here.

Jalasjarvi is a quite small town. The people are very friendly. I was a voluneter for Aukusti festival that took place there. We stayed at the community center. A store was in 100 m from our place. A very strange habit that people have there- after the festival was over, teenagers brought beer and a speaker and just stayed in front of random houses and had like an afterparty there. Everybody knows everybody so even tho they have some strange habits they are still very friendly and safe to be around. nearby there was a big zoo with animals all over the world, lakes and a religious summer camp, sports field, a cinema. compared to other countries it wasn t that expensive, you can recycle cans and get some money back from it. For a restaurant you have to leave the town cause i don t remeber them having one.

Hi there! I'm Ayesha, currently pursuing my Master's degree in Tampere, Finland. I live with my husband. Originally, we both are from Pakistan, and we have always had a passion for exploring new cultures and places. I'm really into makeup and beauty trends, and I love experimenting with new looks. Besides that, traveling is a major passion of mine. I enjoy discovering new destinations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and experiencing different cuisines. We believe we are really fun people to be around😄😄😄. And if you decide to host us anywhere, we will be very good guests 😁 and we don’t create messes haha. We are happy to help you out at your place, exchange cultures and even cook a traditional Pakistani meal. We would love for you to travel with us too. And when you decide to come to Tampere ( it is a really beautiful city, just underrated) in Finland we would love to host you and show you around. We have a spacious 2 room apartment. With a kitchen, bedroom and living room. So we can easily host too as theres an extra living room. Looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing stories
