I've lived in Helsinki now for fine years and I never experienced anything. I use regularly the pubblic transportation, especially the metro, which I take every day and I never have any problem. There might be some drunk people, but they don't usually harm anyone.
Posted: April 24, 2025Joensuu is a very calm and usual finnish town. We do have occasional crimes but the crime rate is not alarming and its very safe town. Me and my girlfriends feel safe to walk alone and sometimes drunk during the night too. Follow regular caution, but its overall very safe place.
Posted: April 17, 2025Mostly safe, just a lot of drunk people in weekends. But if u dont interact , they wont do anything. Mostly feel safe walking alone as a local and no one has ever touched me. I've been catcalled only on evenings in Tampere. On daytime its very safe!

-Overall I'd say Oulu is very safe city for women in general and for solo travellers. Finnish people tend to be very private and respect others' personal space in that manner. BUT ofcouse, like everywhere, there are the few drunken individuals whom do the opposite. But in daylight, Finland is very safe to go around. - Accomondations are mostly chainbrands and high quality and safe. -Public transport super easy and safe. -Most Finnish people are able to speak English and aren't rude or unwilling to help, if needed. But they can be a bit shy at first.
Posted: April 12, 2025Helsinki is a very safe city. Even if you forget your stuff somewhere or leave it at a table you will most likely find it untouched. I think normal precaution when walking alone at night or taking pubpic transport alone at night is sufficient.

Seinäjoki is a generally safe place. Occasionally, some incidents or crimes do happen, but they are quite rare. Naturally, it’s still important to be cautious, especially when walking alone at night, but serious incidents are uncommon. Overall, Seinäjoki feels like a very secure town. There’s not much reason to fear things like shootings or sexual harassment, although the risk does still exist. For the most part, especially during the day, there’s no real need to feel unsafe. In my personal experience, the few times I’ve faced sexual harassment, it has been from older, ”homeless” individuals who didn’t pose an actual threat to me.

A diverse Uni city. Children, old folks and visibly queer people all feel comfortable to walk in the city by themselves. During the day youre more likely to be asked to donate to charity than to be cat called. Finland in general is somewhat racist, but Turku has noticeable immigrant and black populations so BIPOC women might feel more comfortable here than up north. Local women feel safe enough to go for runs after 11pm
Posted: April 11, 2025Tuusula is a small place overall (population of 41 000) and sparsely populated in some areas, so I would say it is quite safe. The most concerning thing is usually a drunk person or a couple of them on the weekend nights. Of course caution is advised everywhere, but compared to many major cities, Tuusula is quite alright.

Helsinki is a very safe place in Finland. You can walk in the night but always be alert of your surrounding. In Helsinki there are not many pickpockers but in crouded areas be alert. People in Finland can be difficult to abroach but they are friendly.
Posted: April 8, 2025Its really safe and guys are too shy to even talk to you. Of course thought men are still men and you can never know! Finnish men come out of their shell after they had a few drinks so it might be a little less safe after hours. Other than that yall good

I tend to visit late as I live in the nearby city and the nightlife is better, and I generally feel safe and aren't concerned about being by myself even if it's in the middle of the night and it's less crowded.
