Turku is a safe city compared to many cities outside of finland, but as a finn, turku is quite unsafe compared to other finnish cities. You should never leave your belongins behind or get too drunk. Also, city centre is not very safe at nights and id recommend to explore the city during the day and spend nights indoors.
Posted: December 19, 2024Helsinki is pretty safe sometimes there can happen something bad like in everywhere can but you can walk alone without being scared even at night and if you need help people will help you with anything
Posted: December 19, 2024The most safe town in the world probably. People here are veeeeery gentle each other but also with foreign people. Everyone welcomed me in such a warm way. I love this place. Vaala is a very small town but still make many many events for people who lives there
Posted: December 5, 2024The safest city in the world, no problems for woman travelers. Public transport is completely safe and works well. However, areas not recommended to go are parts of East Helsinki like Itäkeskus and Kontula.
Posted: November 25, 2024Tampere is a safe city, maybe in the recent years some crimes have occured more than in the past, but very safe and clean and easy city. To go around alone as a female is uncomplicated, and the people will help out if you need help.

I would say Tampere is very safe, but avoid walking alone 22-05 or if you are drunk. Stay with other women. There might be drinken people evenings and weekends, but they are mostly harmless. Finland generally and all Nordic countries are very safe for women.
Posted: November 7, 2024Helsinki in general is a very safe city. I want to start off that I personally live in one of the more “restless” areas that is known to have a lot of drug users and if something violent happens it’s most likely here. With that being said I’m still not scared to walk around alone during the night or don’t have to worry about someone assaulting me. Those types of incidents most often occur between the drug users themselves. Never had a case of pickpocketing happen and the locals are very respectful of personal space. The overall proficiency of English is very good and people are very willing to help. From the safety point of view I’d definitely recommend Helsinki!
Posted: October 22, 2024I feel myself safely all the time. I walk with the dog at 10pm-1am and nothing was ever happened. Have been living in the city around 10y Also sexual harassment is nonsense here. Public transport is safe and secure, because bus driver has alarm button to call police whenever you are. So it is safe and I didn’t hear any stories about harassment or any other crimes in the city last time.
Posted: October 19, 2024Helsinki is safe, especially for solo female traveller. Do practice common sense though! Pick-pocket does happens, especially at the central railway station. Generally Fins dont approach strangers on the street even if they think you are their “love at 1st sight”. So personally I’ll be extra cautious if someone approaches me, especially if its a man. Its most likely he is drunk or high or going to ask for small changes.

You don’t have to be scared of anything in Sastamala. People there don’t care about you in a good way, and they let you mind your own business. I am walking there very often in the evenings when it is already dark, and I have never been scared of anything.

The city isn't very big and although it doesn't have a lot of things to do, it is very safe. I went put multiple times during the night but not even once felt danger. The locals are also very friendly and more than willing to help.
