Espoo is pretty safe, finland in general is one of the most safest countries to live as a woman. I would say Vantaa and Helsinki are more less safe but still very safe, personally havent had any problems
Posted: March 21, 2025Relatively safe, most popular areas are typically safe, as well as well connected. You might sometimes encounter people who may seem sketchy at first glance late at night but they're rarely actually an issue

As a Finnish city Espoo is extremely safe overall as the Finnish culture is based on trust and people are friendly with each other. I don't worry about my stuff being stolen or being attacked. Naturally there is some sexual harassment especially late at night at some clubs or such, but compared to my experiences in other European cities, there is less harassment here in Espoo.
Posted: March 9, 2025During my 5 years living in Espoo, I’ve never felt unsafe. At most I’ve encountered drunk people who might act lout but in the end they don’t usually pose any real threat. Of course, me not experiencing anything unsafe doesn’t mean Espoo is perfectly safe but generally speaking it’s safe both for locals and travelers.

Hey beautiful people! My name is Lejonka, and i am currently studying in Finland. In the summer of 25 I am making a solo interrail trip through eastern Europe, and then I'm having a gap year 25-26 where I will be living in the autumn in the Netherlands (I am both Dutch and Finnish) and then traveling and volunteering in Africa and Iceland in the spring!
