Very safe, but you should avoid "Lehnerpark" and Lehen at night, because it can get dangerous there. The rest of Salzburg is safe, but its always better to not be alone at night. In the middel of Salzburg is always a lit going on and it has many streeligjts so it is not so scary.

If you go to certain spots in Salzburg in the middle of the night, of course there will be some people you might not want to meet. But over all, even I go to the central station, feeling tipsy, in the middle of the night and still feel safe.
Posted: January 3, 2025Never felt unsafe as a woman in Salzburg! I guess as it’s a pretty small city with Quote high security standards there‘s not a big risk of being robbed or anything, but I can immagine this happening in crowds sometimes (like at the christmas market in the old town or at ‚Getreidegasse‘)

For my experience so far, it is a pretty safe city. there might me certain areas (like near the mainstation) where you should be a little bit more careful but i myself never encountered a situation where i felt really u safe or where something happened to me.
Posted: December 25, 2024I think it is as safe as a normal European city’s. But safer than big city’s like Berlin or Frankfurt. But always keep in mind normal safety behaviors, like not getting to drunk or not driving with strangers in a car.

Salzburg is a very Safe city it’s very small and there are people around during the day, in the night it can seem lonely in the streets but it’s quite safe all in all I always use public transport and amhave never been harassed even as a woman of colour. The main city ist quite safe ands so is the the country side. Just the part of the city called Lehen is a bit shady.
Posted: December 25, 2024Salzburg is a very safe place. It is a small town, with lots of tourists, but generally very safe to stay and visit. Compared to other bigger cities like vienna. It is quite peaceful, and people are also not grumpy like in Vienna
Posted: November 24, 2024Salzburg is a super safe city. Of course, you should be aware while walking at night but I’ve never had a bad experience. I would say be careful if you walk near City beats on Friday night, because people are a bit drunk. They don’t approach you physically but might catcall.

Salzburg is very safe, probably one of the safest cities in the world. There are just a few spots I would not go to in the dark, for example the Lehner park. Whenever you don't feel safe you can always rely on the police to help

It's a small city, which is in my opinion very safe. I spend most of my freetime in the city and never before did any of my things get stolen :) Public transport is also safe, as you arrive the only place that might scare you is the train station - but it's not as bad as it seems ;)

i felt safe but people look at you curious or weirdly if you look alternative, walk barefoot or are vegan haha but i mean that kind of makes it more interesting people there are very bougie but there is a cool art museum you should go to in the Wiener-Philharmoniker-Gasse near University. Just keep your eyes open!

Salzburg is super safe to travel as a female solo traveller. I used public transport to go around (I took the 3 day tourist card) and they are really reliable. The food was nice (ate Wiener Schnitzel) but unfortunately I didn't really explore the culinary. I was also registered to the free-walking-tour. Was the best decision because not only someone can "show" you around but also you got interesting information!

Hi my name is Kizi, from Dubai moved to Salzburg 6 years ago. I’m an art student living on the country side. I love the ocean, culture and music and food looking forward to traveling and hosting fun girls that’s love expoloring.

I’m 22 years old and have a passion for languages and culture. I’m fluent in Serbian, English, German, (and semi-fluent in Korean), and I’m also working on improving my Spanish and Italian. Language learning has always been my way of connecting with people and exploring different perspectives, which is why I’d love to visit as many places as possible in my lifetime. When I’m not diving into language study, you’ll probably find me on the volleyball court. Playing volleyball has taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to push myself to new limits. I thrive on challenges, whether it’s perfecting my serve or navigating a new culture during my travels. I believe life is all about experiences, and I’m eager to explore the world, meet new people, and learn everything I can along the way.
