depending on the area, linz is quite safe. unless you are around the train station at night that is. I do have to say, as a queer, alt-looking woman, i have experienced some weird comments by men and young boys. ðŸ˜
Posted: February 18, 2025Linz is a safe place. I live in the center, there are always people around so you never feel alone. They way from the center to my flat is along safe streets and just 15min to walk. There are always strange people in every city, but I'm here since 15 years and never had a problem. You just have to watch after your drinks here! Never leave a glass somewhere on the table without watching it. But the city is safe so far.

Linz is quite a small city and I think it's overall quite a safe city. I am not going out to party that much anymore except for at university where it is very safe. It is quite a bit out of center and near to small villages and lots of forests
Posted: January 15, 2025Overall Linz is a really safe city. Of course you have to be careful at night and in area you’re not very familiar with, but that’s sadly just how the world is. Aside from that I’ve never felt unsafe or scared here, just make sure you stay on well-lit streets if you don’t know the area and don’t go into parks alone when it’s dark :)
Posted: January 13, 2025Linz is the third biggest city of austria, a lot of people live here which means you are barely alone at night on the streets, which is a good thing. Would descripe it as a very safe place to live. Also public transportation.

I think Linz in general is a pretty safe city. From now on I never really had problem. I think it mostly depend, where you go in the city, like the city center is safe, but some district maybe less than others
Posted: January 9, 2025Linz is a nice little city. I live here almost my whole life and the city took a downturn the last few years. I would avoid the main railway station at night as even the police once said they can’t guarantee your safety there.

There are certain areas of the city in which I wouldn't feel comfortable walking alone at night (parks, vacant streets, around the train station), but throughout the day there is nothing to worry about.

I would consider Linz extremely safe. It’s a small city, nothing much happens, police is present. As long as you don’t behave extra risky (like trying to buy drugs or something) there is no problem. I move around the city at any time of day or night on my own and never felt scared.

So far nothing has happened to me during the 2 years I have been living in Linz. Sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable to walk in the dark. Its good to avoid that overall or to at least call someone while walking.
