I would consider Linz extremely safe. It’s a small city, nothing much happens, police is present. As long as you don’t behave extra risky (like trying to buy drugs or something) there is no problem. I move around the city at any time of day or night on my own and never felt scared.

So far nothing has happened to me during the 2 years I have been living in Linz. Sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable to walk in the dark. Its good to avoid that overall or to at least call someone while walking.
Posted: June 9, 2024Linz is a really safe city, where you can feel safe during the day but also at night. As a woman I never had any trouble and also never experienced catcalling. There might be some drunk people and fights in the old town sometimes, but as long as you keep your distance, you should be fine.
