Very safe. Been living here for a couple of years now and nothing ever really happened to me. I used tk be cautious since I come from a smaller town but by now there's nothing to be worried about. Everyone here is helpful and nice as long as you are kind as well xo
Posted: December 10, 2024Innsbruck is in general pretty safe, espescially during the day. I mean it's a popular city for students to study in so there's young people everywhere, day and night. If your walking around after dark, there are only a few places that I would avoid like the main train station or like a few other city parts that are a bit on the outside of the main city, but other than that it's safe.

I used to study there and also lived there for over 1 year and i always felt really safe. I had nothing to worry when i used the bus after midnight. Also walking after midnight was nothing for me to worry.
Posted: November 25, 2024Innsbruck is a city where I feel very safe also at night when it's dark. This might be because its a quite small town. You also often see police patrols and hardly have areas with bad or no light. The Area I would still try not to hang around at night is the train station. But as a travelling person I also came home or left from there very early or late and I never was harmed there still I would not like to spend a night there.

Innsbruck is a small town with few bad spots. However patriarchy and rape culture and creeps are everywhere - I was followed and harrassed in Innsbruck as well, but nothing major. Overall pretty safe. In the city center you can walk at night without problems. My best tip: BIKE. Super safe, city is small enough to be everywhere in 30min.

Innsbruck is a small City, however this doesnt mean of course to fully trust, keep your eyes open and follow the rules when travelling alone as a woman - so enjoy this City and the surrounded mountains, beauty and nature and dtay safe

I think Innsbruck is a pretty safe place to stay, people are friendly and helpful, maybe unless you're at some certain areas, like mitterweg or the train station at night. Also we have the women's taxi every night, from 8pm to 4am, which costs 5€ and the drivers will pick you up wherever you are in Innsbruck and bring you straight to your room/apartment-door if you want to.

Innsbruck is a very safe city in the heart of the Alps. I know that because I spent my teenage years going out in the evening in Innsbruck and I never felt uncomfortable, not even in the middle of the night. In general, crime rates in Austria are extremely low and therefore it is considered a very safe country to travel.
Posted: July 2, 2024Very Safe I've never felt as safe as I do here in Innsbruck. It's a pleasant city and the people are very helpful and nice. No matter where you live, you feel safe. You get to know new people quickly

Innsbruck is a great place to stay if you like the mountains. It's incredibly expensive, therfore only 4 stars, but you can be sure, that everything you buy, eat, do is out of good quality. The coffee is tasty and people are friendly, I felt very safe. If you are in a budget, avoid Innsbruck! If not, enjoy :)

I only spent a day/night there but the scenery is stunning from the whole town. You can walk along the river or head to the little mall where there's a rooftop bar with 360 degree views, good day or night. I didn't catch the cable car up to the mountain top but my friend did and she loved it! Cheaper for students in the afternoon I think. I hiked a mountain looking for a spot to boulder which I didn't have time to climb in the end but it was still lovely. Splashed myself in the mountains streamz, picked wild cherries and oregano and got a lift from a local part way up the hill with my trusty thumb! Also found a great hostel, very cosy and cheap, above cafe munding, I would highly recommend.

I am a student at Innsbruck Medical school and love to make music (Clarinet and Soprano-Saxophon) in my freetime. Beside of that I really enjoy the nature and the mountains around here. I like to go hiking or climbing whenever I have a day off. Together with some friends I live in an old house with an garden.
