Is Long Beach good for solo travel?

Safety:

Safety:Safe

Long Beach, like any major urban area in the United States, has both safe and not-so-safe areas. Downtown area and tourist attractions are generally safe with a good police presence. However, it may not feel as safe at night, especially in deserted areas. Therefore, as a solo female traveler, it's advisable to take general precautions, such as not walking alone at night in unfamiliar areas or displaying expensive items. Inform a friend or family about your plans. Use public transportation or licensed taxi services where possible. To be safe, always be aware of your surroundings.
Transport:

Transport:Easy

Long Beach is fairly accessible for solo female travelers. The city offers an extensive bike sharing program, pedestrian-friendly paths, and has a well-structured public transport network. One can easily move around the main attractions and neighborhoods. However, during late hours, it is advisable to stay cautious.

Things to do:Interesting

Long Beach certainly has a vast amount to offer. The beach itself is an immediate draw, providing opportunities for surfing or sunbathing. For a bit of culture, the landmark Queen Mary ship and the Long Beach Museum of Art are definitely worth a visit. Excursions like whale watching give you a dose of nature, while the Aquarium of the Pacific in Rainbow Harbor promises a fun day out. Foodies will appreciate diverse dining options and shoppers won't be disappointed with boutiques and local shops around Retro Row. However, it might not have quite the variety of a larger city.
Food:

Food:Above average

Long Beach provides a remarkable culinary experience for food lovers. It presents an exciting diversity of cuisines and food options, from authentic Mexican and refreshing seafood to delicious Vietnamese food and more. Plus, options for vegetarians and vegans are present as well, ensuring all travelers can find something to their taste. The freshness and local ingredients used by the chefs certainly add to the overall quality of the food scene. However, the city may not cover every niche or specific dietary preference in its offerings, which lacks slightly when compared to more cosmopolitan food cities.
Budget:

Budget:Moderate

Long Beach, US offers a balance between budget-friendly and high-end options. Accommodation, food, and activities range from moderately priced to expensive. While you can find affordable accommodations and meals, certain attractions and areas can be pricier. The use of public transportation can greatly cut down on costs.

Is Long Beach worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

It was terrible and wonderful. Poor and too wealthy. Sad and happy. I would recommend getting the most expensive hotel because every other place has roaches. I wouldn't spend much time out at night. Get used to hearing fireworks cuz they set them off all night long
