In Udon Thani, infrastructure isn't as developed as in major cities like Bangkok, but it's manageable. The city itself isn't large and can be explored on foot, which gives you freedom and flexibility. For longer distances, you'll have to rely on taxis or hire a scooter. There aren't many English speakers, so communication may pose a challenge when getting directions or booking rides.

Udon Thani offers a few unique activities for its visitors. You can appreciate the large collection of prehistoric artifacts at the Ban Chiang Museum, admire the beautiful architecture of the Wat Phothisomphon or browse the vibrant night market. I've never had any issues here. It's of course got the regular thieves and whatnot but compared to most other places it's extremely safe! I live here as a solo female and haven't experienced any issues.
